Hi +Trey Ratcliff, could I use that Google Glass photo of yours for an article for 20 Minutes (French newspaper/website) (full disclosure the angle is "Is Glass too geeky for mainstream users) https://plus.google.com/photos/+TreyRatcliff/albums/profile/5746227878575929042

Thanks, it's one of the rare that show the image "glow" on the display (I personally cannot wait to try them, hopefully at Google i/o). I'll send you the link once the story is up

sergey brin rocking some Google glasses prototype

The Google Glasses are real!

Thomas Hawk and I are at a dinner to raise money for the Foundation Fighting Blindness.

When I first got here I spotted Google co-founder +Sergey Brin. He was wearing THOSE GLASSES!

He quickly told me it is a prototype. I saw a bluish light flashing off of his right eyeball. I could only guess that my Google+ profile flashed up, or maybe some PR voice said "stay quiet" or something like that.

But the glasses are real. Very light looking. Most of the people around us had no idea that these glasses are pretty special.

Anyway, we are still at the dinner. They will soon turn off the lights to let us know what it is like to be blind.

More later. Thanks to Thomas Hawk, who is blind in one eye, for shooting this photo of us together.

Pete, Blair and the whole team were fantastic. From start to finish, they were always available, quick to reply and very clear in their explanations to answer all of our questions. It was a very complicated loan but we were able to close on time, within $50 of the early estimate. Home buying is rough, especially the first time, but they helped make the experience as painless as possible. Thanks guys!

They did a great job on a suit in 24h, rushed for a funeral. I told them the reason and when I picked it up, they said "it is on the house". Not only are they professional, they are also great human beings, and a little bit of kindness in these hard times was very touching.

Pros: modern building, awesome pool, great gym, good sound/heat insulation. Cons: FIRE. ALARMS. I moved in mid-december, and fire alarms have gone off 6 times in 3 weeks, including 5 times in the middle of the night. The first time, we freaked out and our cats ran for their life under the couch. Last night, we rolled over in bed and just sighed (and would probably die if there was a real fire). Management says this is not an on-going problem, but fire department disagrees, saying, and I quote: "We are there all the time". And mostly for false alarms, with people smoking weed outside or pulling the alarms. Checking online, people were already complaining about that issue in 2008/2009. So unless this gets fixed, I wish I had known that before moving as it is becoming a deal breaker.

Talented and friendly. They have beautiful, handcrafted cabinets, including some incredible natural wood ones. But just as importantly, they are very helpful and friendly: I called at a busy time, with 2 rough slabs of wood for a project. After calling 10 places to find a jointer, James did it for me, sparing me a lot of headache. "How much do I owe you", I ask? "It's on the house", he replies. Thanks to him I was able to finish that nice live edge table. I'll go back when I buy a house.
