Only two months until Dawn's Early Light comes out. FINALLY! Eliza and Wellington have all sorts of capers, and there are about five different famous inventors in this book. Also Sophia del Morte!

Since Tee Morris is out there job hunting, thought I would share this one...
Many of us would love to be trained to have more social skills in everyday life, whether at work or at home. Or perhaps we wish other people we know would receive that kind of training. But is socializing online something that people need to be trained how to do? It might have sounded silly a few years ago, but social technology has now clearly become an important part of workplace activity and productivity. Tech giant IBM believes that the soci...

Go see Hugo. It was such a great movie, that the Monster and I are going to seek it out again, but in 3D next week. I never thought I would see the day where I would say that...

I heard an interview with one of Méliès's descendants on NPR, and she said she thought he'd approve of the 3D technology too. I'm not so sure. In the same interview she mentioned that Méliès was opposed to movies with sound, so he definitely wasn't a proponent of technology for technology's sake. And the film shows how stubborn and recalcitrant he could be.

On the other hand, in the rare cases like this movie when 3D actually lends a sense of magic and whimsey to a film, I'm sure he'd approve. :) It was a fabulous film.

We made it into 5 figures for the first time in 2013. It was the difference between survival and not last year. Could be the same for this year...
So here is the wisdom I have gathered from last year. http://www.pjballantine.com/2014/01/17/indie-book-success/

Part of ImagineThat! Studios experiments in publishing this year is giving a percentage of our books away for free, and not just audio—as ebooks as well. Right now it is Chasing the Bard. You can also find it on Smashwords.

All prepped for SOPA and PIPA (no relation) blackout. Sorry, no Ministry, tweeting, facebooking, and no erotica tomorrow. I anticipate getting plenty of writing done and the house will look amazing!

Good friend, great writer John Mierau is crowdsourcing his new novel. Let's make the magic happen!
Conspiracies, spies and aliens clash. The fate of the human race is at stake, and the lines arent as clear as you think.

HarperCollins has picked Phoenix Rising as one of 10 titles they are offering at 99c for a limited time. We're pretty excited by this development!

Tee said it exactly like I have. Also wishing a genre dead, and pointing your finger at this with glee, rather uncool people.... also just plain wrong. http://teemorris.com/2011/12/09/steampunk-is-dead/
