Story
Introduction

I'm a website developer & designer hybrid from the Austin, Texas area. I'm currently studying a mixture of interactive design, computer sciences, and business management at multiple universities including The University of Texas of Austin.

I've been developing web applications and designs for quite a few years. Starting in 2005, I took on clients and developed sites as a freelance contractor.

You can also find me behind the lens, on my road bike, or out exploring the country. I plan to travel the world & photoblog the entire trip, hopefully in the next few years.

I've been to Sterling a few times - mainly for warranty issues or going back to fix their goof-ups. Yes, fixing their goof-ups. I had to get my engine replaced under warranty and have had to make several trips back for them to fix things that went wrong due to their negligence (e.g. wrong type of belt.) So I'm looking forward to seeing what goes wrong this time. I just got back from a routine maintenance, oil change + brake pad replacement + rotating the tires. I was forced to go to a shop instead of doing it on my own since I live in apartments and do not have the equipment needed handy. Let's just put it this way - I could have gotten high performance parts cheaper than what I paid, and I wouldn't have had to pay ridiculous labor charges. Brake pad replacements - $150 labor PER axle (plus the OEM parts @ over MSRP value.) $20 to rotate the tires, even though the tires were already off when the brake pads were being replaced. Miscellaneous charges like "Shop Supplies" that nobody seems to know what it was, but hey it's an extra $25 fee. All in all, if I would have done it myself I could easily saved $400 and gotten high performance parts, or if I went to a different shop saved at least a few hundred for the same parts.
