This place was quite a surprise, sort of a hidden gem. Although there is a big sign on the corner of. Sunset and Mountain Vista, you have to go into this industrial park around the first MARS building to see there's a large cactus garden fronting a chocolate shop fronting a chocolate factory (shades of Willy Wonka). The garden is amazing and decorated with lights for Christmas, the large shop is full of goodies, with samples, a view of the chocolate production facilities, and you can get some coffee or hot chocolate to go with your chocolate. I like to get a coffee with my cupcate or chocolate covered marshmallow (they usually run out of the chocolate covered strawberries before I get there) and snack in the cactus garden. Theyt also have a little artist/music/food festival in the parking lot every second Saturday of each month.

This is a short walk from my apartment so I dropped in - place always seems busy, and the cut cost $20, but the wait wasn't too long and they did spend a lot more time on the cut than I usually get at my cheaper spots, and I do think it's one of my better cuts.

This is one of the larger Smiths I've been to, so it has some nice features like the on-site sushi preparation, bulk food section, and I really like the gaming lounge. Although I don't gamble, they let me try out the comfy chairs in there and watch the movie that was playing on the big TV.

There's a lot of ramen I like in Vegas, but this is my favorite so far, and with the best selection. The karaage is very good, too.

This isn't the McDonalds of my youth. Among the fancy features are a touch-sensitive colored light wall and comfy chairs from which you can watch McDonalds TV, which actually has some pretty interesting news programming. Itr's a little hard to hear sometimes with kids screaming in the play area, but I guess that just shows it's a popular place to bring kids. I've found the service to be friendly, also.

I haven't found any place in Las Vegas that I like as much as my favorites in San Diego, but this Roberto's is really convenient, open 24 hrs and walking distance to my apartment. I've been there twice, satisfied with the fish burrito I got the first time, and I thought the shrimp burrito on my second visit was pretty good. They have the occasional odd duck hanging around - this guy who could have been Matthew McConaughey told me how he invested in gold koi. That's right: koi.

Nice cozy little donut shop. I stopped in once in the afternoon for coffee and a donut, and the second time was in the evening so they were out of coffee, but the guy maybe wanted to go home so he sold me everything in the donut case for $5. Win win.
