Go to my Pinterest page  http://pinterest.com/philwiley/ and open the ‘Most Popular Pins On Pinterest’ board. Now try and guess the 3 most repinned images. One of them has an almost unbelievable number.

Now visit my blog http://philwiley.com/advice/my-pinterest-quiz/ and you'll find the viewing figures for the 'pins' at the bottom of that article :)

How can you attract the media’s attention and secure ink, mentions, or Internet space for your stories?

If you’re in business, you have a story to tell and customers waiting to hear it. Thanks to social media, sharing your news is easier than ever, but reaching out to the media with story pitches and ideas still requires professional protocol and a clear understanding of what reporters need.

Today’s girls are becoming more blunt and direct, thanks to the rise of technologies such as texting and social media.

Writer of the long-running (since 2001) "Letter from Phil", a hype-free email newsletter about running a home-based online business. Tips. Ideas. How-to's. News. Gossip. The whole works. And it's still free.
Introduction
Escaped from a small village in Yorkshire to live on the even smaller island of Lundy, fled Britain to travel Europe with an Aussie girl and ended up staying for a long time on a football pitch sized Greek island called Moni.

When our money ran out moved to London and did some music mag work in Soho before following the Aussie to Queensland and working as a copywriter for a big charity, before a motoring mag asked me to be their chief photographer and I spent a year driving all over Australia, then they sacked me for spending 5 days and nights at the hospital when our daughter was born with a serious metabolic disorder (Phenylketonuria).

After that worked on newspapers for a long long time, as a photo-journalist and a syndicated columnist, before having to quit because "Letter from Phil" the free email newsletter I write, was making me so much money it was silly to stay with my day job.

So here I am, all these years later, sitting in a home office on top of a mountain in the middle of nowhere in Australia, writing stuff online while being distracted by views of the Great Barrier Reef islands and racing around having to close all the windows every time a cloud starts drifting into the house.
