The Koch brothers do more for people in a year than most do in a lifetime.
I can't say without knowing all of the details that I condone everything that happens there but I look at the good which has come from that "empire". A lot of folks who work there make great money for the Midwest standard of living. The Koch's donate regularly to various organizations across the community and nation. (Whether a donation is for personal gain or not, is a good thing regardless in most cases). The fact that they have chosen to not only stay within the Wichita community, but expand here also says a lot. Many companies that start here, leave for greener pastures at some point showing the true colors of the leaders...
Being wealthy doesn't mean a person is selfish and being poor doesn't mean a person is selfless. It goes both ways.
No worries on feeling like you've offended me. I know we have different perspectives on the topic and we're both stubborn enough to fight our views.
thanks for the input as well! Been a while! Was asking Justin if he'd heard from you.
Your experiences of growing up poor are similar to mine. I grew up lower middle class (poor by some standards) and was raised by poor money managers. I am fortunate enough to have parents who were always able to provide though and they taught me that life is what I make of it. If I don't have food on the table, it's no one else's responsibility to put it there but mine and if I go hungry, I can't blame anyone but me. I've gone hungry more than once and I tell you what, it struck a fire under my butt and motivated me to figure out a way to fix it!
Seriously Laugh out Loud funny!
Meet Jacob Barnett, in this particular video Jacob demonstrates solving quantum mechanics degeneracy problem using permutation groups in the polynomial it is creating, from this is a short stop to more abstract notion of abstract generalization of such groups that of Motives.
Jacob was 15 at the time of making this video, and Indiana University don't know whom they have, he soon will need to be transferred (by a chauffeured limousine) to Princeton University.
Y'all need to stick to tech posts and stay out of business... Google isn't a competitor now, but they will be a MAJOR competitor in 10 years. Understanding business means looking at what will happen in the future, not what's happening right now. Comcast is making a very smart move in securing their market position now for what's coming in the near future.
In twenty years the top three contenders for internet service and communication will likely be Google, Comcast (assuming the merger goes through) and Verizon, given the current trends of their business tactics.
What cracks me up though is that a Comcast exec recently said Fiber to the house is stupid because "most homes can't handle fiber to the device." Sounds like they're changing their tune and waking up to the fact that the people who are buying fiber, can handle fiber, not to mention it isn't about the speed, it's all about the bandwidth.
