I watched BBC coverage of the #Wimbledon  final yesterday, but with an added layer of interest, thanks to Andy Roddick's #Periscope  coverage. Here's why I think it was a major media moment.

How we helped Azimo expose migrant abuse with our Better Than That campaign. Particularly pertinent given it's referendum day and we've seen more abuse and mis-information about migrants than I thought was possible.

When my wife bakes a cake - like this one she did for our daughter - it seems like magic to me. Skills like this are the ones that I think will be worth developing for the future. Find out more on my latest blog post.

Our head of analyst relations David Rossiter has written a rebuttal to a blog post that said, "the fact that Gartner Group accepts money from the companies that are being evaluated, makes their independence very much open to question." In short, he strongly disagrees - but also states the case on how and why engaging with Gartner can be beneficial. #analystrelations   #gartner

The C-word - we refer, of course, to "content" - has its detractors amongst marketers and journalists.

Is the criticism justified? And how do we avoid drowning in a sea of content?

Blogger and digital marketing consultant Phil Szomszor discusses content marketing with Tony Hallett, former publisher and now managing director of Collective Content.

For more background, check out Tony's blog post http://www.collectivecontent.co.uk/2016/02/19/content-isnt-a-dirty-word/

In its annual predictions reports CCS Insights predicted the rise of wearables in 2016. So, what better excuse than to catch up with the company's wearables analyst +George Jijiashvili  to find out what's hot and whether I should be forking out for some wearable sports clothing.

Here's our advisory note on #Brexit  and the likely impact for the tech sector, plus what it means from a PR and digital comms perspective.

My write up from yesterday's Innovate Finance Global Summit, held in London. Around 1,500 people from 42 countries representing entrepreneurs, investors, advisers, vendors and government gathered to discussed the future of the UK fintech scene. Here's my summary of the morning's discussions. #fintech

Today's been fun. For Cisco we've been doing our own version of World Book Day on Twitter with the hashtag #RuinABookWithTech . By 3pm it was trending and had amassed well over 2 million impressions, with loads of amazing entries. By far the most common was "Hitchhikers Guide To The Samsung Galaxy S6" (Samsung presumably happy with the free publicity). Here's my effort

Lots of companies are talking about 'the future of work', quoting stats about how we'll all be working across different sites, in different timezones, and the blurring of personal and work-time.

But what does all this mean today, when trying to get teams of people working more effectively together? Phil Szomszor will put this question to sharing economy and co-working expert, Bernie Mitchell.

Phil will be quizzing Bernie about practical steps companies can take to work more effectively together, the latest tools to watch out for and some time-saving tips and tricks, so users don't drown in a sea of emails and Slack updates.

Introduction

I am Digital Engagement Director at Harvard, an integrated communications agency specialising in technology businesses. Winning seven awards last year and already shortlisted for two Agency of The Year Awards in 2015, Harvard now works with some of the most exciting brand in B2B and B2C worlds each using technology to effect change.

I’ve been working in PR and digital communications since graduating with a marketing degree in 1997. In that time I’ve worked with dozens of start-ups, fast track businesses and household brand names, combining media relations with social media and other marketing communications activities.

In my spare time I’m a blogger, podcaster and public speaker, so whether you’re on the look out for a new PR agency or some views about the industry, please get in touch.
