I've found that sometimes the individual colors are cheaper than the combo pack.  Gotta do some looking on Amazon.

Over the weekend, Motorola began a soak test of Android 5.1 Lollipop for the Moto X (1st gen) on Verizon. At the time, we told you that it could begin rolling out to non-soak testers within the week, assuming it was successful. Well, Verizon must be pleased with the Lollipop build, as they have approved …

There's a task manager on the Gear S2. There shouldn't be a task manager on a smartwatch.

Shkreli VS Salk:

When he asked who owned the patent for his Polio vaccine, Salk famously said that there was none, "Could you patent the Sun?"
-------

The top image shows Shkreli, a former hedge fund manager who acquired Daraprim, a 62-year-old drug that treats life-threatening infections and helps support the immune systems of AIDS and cancer patients. Immediately after the deal was finalized in August, the company raised the price from $13.50 per tablet to $750—a 5,000% increase.

The bottom image shows Jonas Salk, the medical researcher and virologist who spent seven years of his life developing a vaccine against polio, an infectious disease that was previously regarded as one of the most frightening and uncontrollable in the world. Annual epidemics made headlines and prompted fear in the public. Salk was successful in his efforts and came out with the vaccine in 1957; he supported mandatory vaccinations across the world, putting public health before profits.

How do we know the climate is changing? So what if Earth gets a tiny bit warmer? Cartoon polar bear stands on small chunk of ice. The sky is still blue. Trees are still green. Wind still blows. Clouds are still white and fluffy. Rain still pours from the sky. Snow falls and it still gets really ...

I'm very much looking forward to this.  Apple's launchd is being ported to #FreeBSD , by way of FreeNAS 10.  Hopefully, launchd then makes its way into FreeBSD HEAD at some point.

This is a technical talk, free of "init religion", getting into some of the nitty gritty of init, IPC, cron and syslog.   Jordon Hubbard makes a very strong technical case why 1970s-style init systems don't scale to the 21st century.  For background, launchd was the inspiration for #systemd in Linux.

Jordan Hubbard is a co-founder of the FreeBSD project and was head of UNIX development at Apple for ten years.
