"But the volume of the microservices conversation should not let us forget the more important issues that drive the success and failure of software projects. Soft factors such as the quality of people on the team, how well they collaborate with each other, and the degree of communication with domain experts, will have a bigger impact than whether to use microservices or not. On a purely technical level, it's more important to focus on things like clean code, good testing, and attention to evolutionary architecture." - Martin Fowler, July 2015
The microservices architecture can be useful, but to know if it's suitable in your context you need to understand its costs and benefits.

I was actually fortunate enough to see the Si2 flying last year at the Payerne14 air show in Switzerland. To me, the most impressive thing is the fact that Andre uses self-hypnosis to put himself in deep sleep very quickly, allowing himself to maximize his 20 minute-long breaks. He landed in Hawaii at 16:00 GMT.

I get several spams a day from recruiters or salespeople. One of today's batch started like this:

"Recently, biologists discovered that Chimpanzees will change their ‘language’ when moved from zoo to zoo to get along better, and work as part of the social group."

I'm speechless.

While this gets linked a lot this day as an argument pro (and sometimes against) the recent legal changes in US, it's actually a very insightful essay on database design. (And, behind it, maybe an explanation of why some people and laws have difficulties updating their definitions of various basic concepts).
One. Let's start with a few really dumb systems which nobody with a brain cell would ever use. How about this? males - id - forename - surname - birthdate - wife_id (foreign key references column females.id , may be NULL if male is unmarried) females - id - forename - surname - birthdate ...

The IETF has taken an official stance in the matter: SSL 3.0 is now deprecated. It's been a long time coming. We've had, as many others, SSL 3.0 disabled on all our servers for multiple years now. And I'm now happy to report the IETF is making the end of SSL 3.0 "official". The Secure …
