The Challenger Sale is a recent book and methodology that highlights why the most successful sales people are successful. It is because they challenge their customers in a collaborative way!

In this conversation with Eric Moss we are discussing the Challenger Sale and its similarities with alliances:

The double edged sword of being in alliance management

It has been said before: collaboration with outside parties is now more important than ever before. More and more people are starting to understand this and more often alliances are created to grow businesses. However, there still is a high failure rate…
When you are in that alliance role, you are in a key position for your company’s future growth! It can be a lonely position so you need an alliance mentor!

This was the first yellow arrow I encountered during my 2013 Camino to Santiago de Compostela. Then 900km walking through Northern Spain, with many many arrows to follow. Now I am returning in May for one week to walk the last 110km from Saria to Santiago de Compostela with a group.
(and you can be part of it!)

Last week the ASAP Alliance Excellence Award winners were announced at the ASAP Global Alliance summit. Congratulations to all winners and particularly to Philips with winning the “Innovative Best Alliance Practice Award”!Quite often I use the Senseo alliance between Philips and Douwe Egberts as a well known and well documented example that has already seen many stages of the alliance lifecycle. It is also an example that goes back many years in ...

Every now and then it is good to set some time aside to reflect and to look into the mirror of our own developments. However, looking in the mirror is not easy. If you are like most of us, you will have a subjective view on what you see in the mirror. True reflection is difficult, resulting in improvement being far away. We need someone who will help us! Someone who will create objective clarity from the chaos we ourselves see in the mirror.A coa...

Personal leadership for the collaborative business world
Introduction

Collaboration is the name of the game. To be successful we need to collaborate in everything we do: with our peers, with stakeholders, in our teams, within the hierarchy and with outside organizations in strategic alliances. In the collaborative business world no one can go it alone!

To thrive in the collaborative business world you need to hone your personal leadership skills and become well versed in elements like stakeholder management, relationship development and cross organizational collaboration, while at the same time managing red tape, mastering personal productivity, and balancing work/life integration.

Your personal leadership will make the difference in your life, your organization, your collaborations, your clients and your career.

As a leadership coach and strategic alliance professional I work with business leaders and professionals from multinationals to startups. My role is to guide you and your team in the journey of developing your personal leadership for the collaborative business world.

My previous experience includes decades of working in partnerships and new business development. In my final corporate assignment I was the Global Alliance Executive responsible for the alliance between two multinationals. I am an ASAP Certified Strategic Alliance Professional (CSAP) and I am  the previous Chairman of the Benelux chapter of ASAP, the Association of Strategic Alliance Professionals.

In 2013 I walked the Camino to Santiago de Compostela. This pilgrimage brought me a life altering experience and many stories, which often come back as anecdotes in my daily work. I am the father of four kids and live in the Amsterdam area in the Netherlands. I am an avid photographer capturing stunning views and amazing moments.
