Well, it didn't take long for this to mutate - amazing what you can do in a day when the phone is turned off...this section done - happily chugging away on Node-Red Dashboard. http://tech.scargill.net/a-thermostat-weekend/

Oh no Eric - the temperatures shown are not the actual temperature - though that's a VERY good idea now you mention it... they are the SET temperatures and you can just touch any one of them and alter it with the left-right buttons at the bottom...

Hmm, displaying the last 24 hours - THAT's not a bad idea...

I need a LED first.

A very pleasant way to spend a Saturday..

http://www.hollyberry-cottage.co.uk/a-beautiful-day-for-a-walk/
Published January 15, 2017 | By Pete. Yesterday saw the clearest skies we've had in some time here in Northumberland – and what a day for a walk. The cottage of course, being on the very edge of town, is ideally suited as a base for various walks and this is probably one of the best. Hareshaw Linn.

So - I read https://robertnyman.com/2008/10/09/explaining-javascript-scope-and-closures/ and that was eye-opening though they were closing again about half way through. I understand scope in terms of when variables are accessible and when they are not... (from many years programming in C) - but I don't understand scope in the context used here.

(function(scope){
scope.$watch('msg', function(data) {

});

})(scope);

So I know it works- like I know gravity works - and now I can access msg.payload as data.payload etc... but I don't know WHY.

If you do... keep it simple :-)

Fairly ordinary bar but the views.... returned a couple of times just to sit outside and enjoy Gibraltar. Got a decent mobile signal for checking emails. Yes, well worth a visit.

I guess a fairly ordinary hotel - food was excellent, room was nice, but it's the location - walk outside and you are in the middle of things - stayed there several times, no complaints. The pool on the roof is great and the views even greater.

The pool (which is lovely) had just closed when we got there late September and they would not let people use it - pity they'd not bothered to tell us that when we booked - it was still roasting. Breakfast was, well, basic to say the least. They feature private parking but as far as I could see you took pot luck. Not a particularly nice area.. Indeed the best thing about it - had it been open would have been the pool and bar. Room was ok, had working air-conditioning but otherwise nothing special.

Pizzas in the area are generally a bit odd- some of the bases taste like biscuits - not here. Best Pizzas I've had - and we return time and time again. Sit outside - marvelous in the summer.
