+Mozilla Firefox tracking protection decreases page load time by 44%

Wow! That's huge! I didn't care much about these tracking protection and do-not-track things previously but it seems that I should now.

Personally I wasn't convinced that we need to check these check-boxes  (do-not-track, et al). Quite the contrary - I believe that the openness, including a personal one, creates additional value for the society (and business, consequently). The Snowden's problem from my PoV wasn't due to excessive (and without due permissions) "openness" but because of lack of one (lack of transparency). I believe we should increase transparency of everything (govt, social services, business, science, etc) instead of trying to hide our identity from a web-servers.

But it seems that this transparency-without-a-consent is implemented quite poorly. And opting out from tracking not only destroys a business value but also technically beneficial for a user.

From now on I'll always turn on these privacy extensions.

Need to be careful with this option since it may eventually break the sites. For instance, it forbids any scripts from yandex.st making timepad admin UI broken (they loads jquery from there).

Sad to hear that +Петро Порошенко doesn't even consider peaceful solutions. Fighting against Russians is anything but a pleasant ride so this "last drop of blood" might not be just a poetical hyperbole.

What post- #Euromaidan Ukraine lacks is the political / non-military way of thinking. Remember what exactly Russian freedom fighters demanded initially? The list was quite short - Russian language as the second one (similar to Canada's French and English, for example), tax reform ("no taxation without representation" - sounds familiar, right?), federalism (ability to add/remove additional laws and taxes - the same as in Russia, or USA). +Петро Порошенко started military operation instead of discussing/negotiating all that. And now he is making the next mistake - he is willing to continue military operation further.

This is really sad to hear, especially for Russians, since most of us (unlike some other countries' citizens) doesn't see war as a legitimate/acceptable way of solving any conflicts ( https://twitter.com/valuesstudies/status/552910907500941312 ).

Unfortunately +Петро Порошенко wants Ukrainians dead ("last drop of blood"). So be it.

https://www.roi.ru/18915

Perhaps the first advertisement which hides when cop is around.

As you might have heard already, Putin banned parmesan, jamon, and many other EU delicious foods from importing to Russia. I'm lucky - my sister buys me all these things every time she visits EU, but if you don't have a relative who travels to EU a lot then you're screwed.

Recently Moscow cops started seizing "illegal" jamon and parmesan which is still sold in some Moscow grocery stores (Capitalism works btw!). So a parmesan/jamon dealer has to hide the ads from the cops but only from them.

Very atmospheric! Looks like #Euromaidan isn't going very well :)

Speaking seriously more and more people are joining sides - this isn't a good sign for a peace believers. As it was said billion times already - what was originated from the violence won't be peaceful either. Almost year ago Euromaidan thugs should have negotiate with their Russian fellow citizens instead of trying to force them to surrender and abandon their identity.

Almost everyone is mentioning that despite of a political developments (truce, etc) Novorussia prepares to the last battle. Two things - everyone believes that war isn't over yet. Not even close. Second - people believe it will be resumed very soon and the next battle will be decisive to one of the parties involved.

Speaking of me I feel very confident that Ukrainian forces won't recover anytime soon (no matter if +NATO helps them with few spare tanks and helicopters or not) and their attempts to reclaim Novorussia will end up in more bloody defeat(s) than the previous ones. Unfortunately that's exactly what is going to happen.

Btw remember I've told about opaque Chinese involvement in a conflict ~a year ago?

Looks like that's a developing story:

And a week later:

Not sure what all this means, but I'd adjusted Doomsday Clock a bit.

A cat who survived in the war zone by eating human flesh (dead Ukrainian soldiers).

Human pets eating their own humans is a common story in Ukraine nowadays. When humans are in shortage they have to eat other former pets as well. A friend of mine told me that he witnessed a cat eating other cat, a cat eating dog, and a dog eating cat. No cannibal dogs (dogs eating dogs) were seen so far btw.

Video in Russian, w/o translation - sorry for that.

They say that there is no need to worry - a Russian nuclear counterstrike would be much more powerful and devastating than the +NATO 's offensive one. Yes, indeed - I feel really safe now!
