How about letting the wildlife arm themselves with guns, knives, bombs........ we'd shit ourselves.

Wildlife decline may lead to 'empty landscape' - http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/science-environment-32549898
About 60% of the world's largest herbivores are at risk of extinction, according to research by an international team.

A short video clip of the lower reservoir at Foulridge that I visited yesterday. I pass this place daily to get to work but it's the first time I've actually had a walk around it. Never realised it is this nice.

Peace and tranquility! After the adrenaline packed day, I've just had a nice stroll around the lower reservoir at Foulridge. I've been told this reservoir keeps the Leeds to Liverpool canal topped up during the summer months. Judging by those clouds accumulating (and the weather forecast) it looks like no pumping will be required over the next week at least!

That's the same canal we had a walk by last year. +Peter Hughes . Not in this picture, of course.
Beautiful photos. Nice fluffy clouds.

Had a little trip by car to Hebden Bridge earlier on today. Great place with a lovely feel to it. I could stand in one spot and see 3 pubs without moving! So definitely a superb location. The A6033 is a great road for bikers but be sure to trust the edge of your tyres if you do as there's some tight corners.

+Don Little pretty much everyone here is heartily sick of the bloody election. Politicians are just lying scumbag Eton schoolboys and their promises are worthless. They won't ever be held to account when they fail to deliver.
Vote Muppet...You're gonna get one anyway!

Just come back from work after doing the late shift and this friendly cat jumped up on the wall from nowhere to say hello. A black cat bringing me luck hopefully! ☺

I'd love a barge. That would just suit me that - life on the waterways. A leisurely journey along the canal and stopping at every pub along the way for refuelling 😉

Taken at Hebden Bridge.

Can't be beaten! Excellent pub and well worth a visit. A small choice of real ales but of the best quality. Very friendly owners and great staff. I've not tried the food yet but I've never heard any negative comments and I'm a local!

Very poor! I can only give my point of view from my visit, of course, and it was from the takeaway side not the restaurant/café. On the occasion I visited I ordered Cheeseburger and Chips and there was only one word to describe the food I had on that day - horrendous! The burger had clearly been reheated and was well cooked and hard! The chips were the worse tasting I've had since, I can't even remember that far back! It's the first time I've ever left food uneaten...... will not be returning in the near future.

Typical Fish & Chips takeaway but with a small dine-in area. Quick and friendly service and top of the list of the tastiest food in the area. 10 out of 10 from me.

The best tasting cheeseburger & chips I've ever had - anywhere! And believe me, I'm a connoisseur!! I can only comment on the takeaway side. You'll always go back there again when in town.

There's many good places in Colne for takeaway food but this is my first call place. If this place is closed, only then will I go elsewhere. Very friendly and cheerful service, excellent food, traditional tasty chips and excellent value. Just can't be beaten.
