Great tips!
You don’t need culinary school. You don’t need expensive equipment. You don’t even need that much experience. All you need to be a better cook today is a little bit of knowledge. Or, in the case of this list, 57 little bits.

Peppers, Onions, Sausage and Rice

This took 17 minutes from the refrigerator to the plate and it was delicious and simple as can be.

Homemade Pad Thai

I've got a lot of work to do on this, but I was pleasantly surprised by my first attempt.

Out of an extreme abundance of caution, sand bags have been placed at the entrance to our building. The rain has stopped though, and we are high and dry. Looking forward to the following week of sunshine!

+Peter G McDermott my train trip is about 20 miles, takes 50 minutes. Sadly, there's no permanent parking lot for us as but the sales guy I work with has one privately that the company reimburses him for. If I drove, there's tolls as well. $14 heading to the city and a relatively cheap $10 on the way home (the Sydney Harbour Bridge only has a toll into the CBD, thankfully).

I've always lived in transport corridors, near (but not too close) a major motorway and trains. The role in doing now is the first time I've ever been based on the Sydney CBD, so the train is a must. With previous jobs, when I had to visit a customer, I'd drive and then put the parking on the company Amex ;-)

Yeah, come on +Qantas. Flick one of us a ticket. SYD - DFW.

Grapevine Lake Flooded

Shot this while I was out today. The police have barricaded all access to the spillway, so the only way to see that is from some drone footage shot by someone earlier.

Those chairs remind me of an idea o thought of some time ago. It was a concept of a wall like system that you basically fall into and folds out to a snazzy chair.

We decided to give +Fuzzy's Taco Shop in Grapevine another try for breakfast and were kind of disappointed. I ordered the 'Big Fuzz' and the potatoes (although well seasoned and flavorful) came out cold. Brittani had some breakfast tacos and was underwhelmed, too. It's a shame, this place is right by our house and would be a great location for a weekly taco night or Sunday brunch.

I'm a big fan of the original Main Street Bakery in Grapevine, but work in Plano and decided to give this location a try. I went in by myself for a quick lunch and found that the restaurant is designed differently than the Grapevine location. Upon walking in the door, there is a host(ess) stand and next to it were a cluttered pile of menus. Since there was no host(ess) there, I picked up a menu to peer through the options. After about 30 seconds, the hostess came up and seated me. My waiter showed up shortly thereafter and took my drink order while I looked over the two menus. There was a main menu that offered breakfast, lunch and "entrees" as well as another menu of "specials" although none of the prices seemed to deviate from what was on the regular menu. Craving something with beef, I asked the waiter to help me choose between the beef sliders, tenderloin sandwich and the french dip. He assured me that the french dip was the way to go. I ordered with a side of fries (included). When the food came, the fries, sandwich and au jus were all warm, however as I started to dig in (and I'm a fast eater) the plate quickly became cold. It was very disappointing dipping a lukewarm sandwich into a lukewarm bowl of au jus. Likewise, the fries (shoe string and cooked to a perfect crispy golden brown) were totally cold halfway through my sandwich. While I was making my way through my mediocre lunch, I noticed the couple across from me had ordered a pair of french dips and had to ask that a hot bowl of au jus be brought to their table. If not pressed for time, I would have probably voiced concern over my lackluster meal. However, after having such fond experiences at the Grapevine location, I fear that this crew doesn't keep their standards nearly as high. If you're in The Shops of Legacy and you have enough time to grab a sandwich, there are plenty of other places nearby that will give you a much better experience, which is such a shame, because the Main Street in Grapevine is one of my favorite spots in town.

So-So Experience Tonight with Great Recovery Normally, I would give this place 4 stars. Only not 5 because I think the beer is too expensive. $7 a pint is pushing it. Tonight the service was subpar. Our waiter offered us dessert before we had our pizza. Twenty minutes later we're still waiting. It's my wife's 30th birthday. This is embarrassing for me. I hope it's embarrassing for him. Update: Manager apologized, bought us a pie and a pair of cocktails and the server made up. Everything turned out great! As they say, all's well that ends well.

Best Restaurant in Flower Mound There, I said it. Anamia's consistently delivers great service, wonderful drinks and amazing elevated Tex-Mex cuisine at reasonable prices. Come on the weekend and you'll usually find a line. Don't worry, it's worth the wait. Wanting to try the best of the best? The Tacos A La Mexicana feature a trio of succulent brisket tacos with a delicious cup of bean soup with an avocado salad and Mexican rice. Keep coming back and the staff will remember your face, your drink and your favorite things to order. This spot is full of energy and great for a family or first date. If I could give it six stars, I would.

Esparza's is a Grapevine staple. Located right off of Main Street, Esparza's offers a wide variety of Mexican and Tex Mex dishes along with a full bar. There is patio seating outside which is a great way to enjoy the cooler months in Texas. Drinks here can get expensive, with most margaritas between $10-$15. With just a few drinks and standard fare, you can quickly rack up the tab. Also, the inside dining room by the bar is very noisy. Pro: right across the street from an EV charging station Con: the local birds tend to frequent the patio outside, looking for stray tortilla strips
