Press ? in Gmail [or most other Google Apps] and up pops the keyboard short cuts. You only need use a few to increase your posting speed by double.

For me, ctrl + i for italic and ctrl + b for bold make me make more sense to people and keeps my fingers on the keyboard ..

Another sheet is the Keyboard accelerators, mnemonics, and shortcuts http://goo.gl/TyS7E ..

Recommended documentary "La Danse: The Paris Opera Ballet"

The style is excellent. Quiet observation, with no interviews, questions, or answers. The architecture and the building are equally important (and beautifully captured) as are the dancers, choreographers, directors, food servers, maintenance workers, seamstresses, and mail sorters.

Are you kidding me? I'm in love with this dog. Look at his straight back. Notice how un-distracted he is. Watch him climb onto the bike and signal readiness to the rider!

Excellent description of "dominance," how the meaning is often misconstrued, what is wrong with "alpha" male theories, and why training theories espoused by Caesar Milan can be dangerous.

Yes - and it's become such a popular wisdom. I've had people tell me that my tiny, 3 month old puppy is trying to dominate me...

Nice story. Good luck to Yubari. Romantically speaking, they should re-open the public baths, build smithy shops for sword blades, open a Samurai school, and walk around in wooden sandals. (Yes, my mental image of Japan is hopelessly mired in 1950s period films of feudal Japan.)
Yubari is hoping that 31-year-old Naomichi Suzuki can turn around its deep debt and troubling demographics.

Great hike in New Hampshire, USA. We camp at Calumet, swimming in Lake Ossipee. Awoke a 4am with plenty of light, drove north and cooked egg sandwiches in Crawford notch. Got a late start and climbed Ammonusuc ravine to Lake of the Clouds. But... it was perfectly timed because we arrived just before a torrential downpour. About 100 people arrived after us drenched to the bone.

Fortunately, the storm passed over and left us safe for a traverse of Crawford Path  alpine meadows. Steve stays on low path while I run over Monroe, and later drop my pack to run up/down the summit of Eisenhower. We had a good descent on Edmunds Path before getting soaked for the last 30 minutes. (Better there than up at altitude.) 9.5 hours on the trail.

The dog is so tired that she falls asleep in the car (never has happened in 5 years). Her inner eyelids roll over her eyes. We stop and I buy a meatball sandwich. She doesn't stay awake while I eat (never has happened either). I put two pieces of bread with tomato sauce in front of her nose, and then video tape this historic event. It takes 3 minutes before she wakes up, wolfs the food, and goes back to sleep

Excellent documentary on many levels. Footage, soundtrack, narration, and the story itself. I've never experienced such a prescient ambiance in a film. Worth watching a second time with the directors' commentary.

I wonder how bird brains fluctuate with sunspot activity...
Researchers have identified cells in a pigeon’s brain that record detailed information on the earth’s magnetic field, a kind of biological compass.

Elegant & minimalist. No surprise it's designed in Denmark.
