About: plcombs Dealers of Chinese Antiques
We are a family owned and run business quite happily located in one of the prettiest coastal towns in the entire United States. We are not an antiques shop, our primary focus is handling large and small collections of Chinese and Asian antiques and works of art created in all mediums. Our offices are located in the center of Gloucester in a former 19th C. bank we now call our business’s home. When you call us, you’ll speak immediately with (me) Peter Combs, my wife Francesca or my eldest son Bradford.
We have extensive experience in authenticating-dating and valuing Asian works of art in all categories. Including Export Porcelain as well as ceramics, from the Neolithic, Tang, Song, Yuan, Ming and Qing Dynasty’s, including Imperial examples. This is in addition to our strong working experiences with silks, jades, furniture, scholar’s objects as well as scrolls and other works of art.
What we do at: plcombs Dealers of Chinese Antiques
During the last 35 years we’ve had the opportunity while working with executors and collectors; to broker, appraise, buy and sell some of the finest Asian antiques sold in the United States and China to collectors, dealers and institutions. While you may not know us, you have no doubt seen or heard on the news about objects we’ve handled for our customers. If you visit museums in the region or New York, you no doubt have seen objects we’ve sold them. We conduct our business quietly and privately on behalf of our customers as their representatives in the market.
Our data base of active buyers and customers number currently over 6,000, located here in the United States, Europe, Hong Kong and Mainland China. We work for our customers to find the best venue to bring to market their object(s) or collections. Whether it’s through a direct sale to a collector or institution or placed with an appropriate auction house here or abroad we have the experience globally to get it all done seamlessly and with little fuss.
Thank you, Peter Combs
