Tampa Bay Fans should not be allowed into the United Center. The Blackhawks should restrict Bolts fans to a cordoned off area in one of the parking lots. They could watch the games on their electronic devices while tailgating. Porta-potties should be provided to make them feel right at home.
“Throughout the playoffs, the Lightning have been taking heat for their draconian ticket policies meant to limit attendance by fans of opposing teams. Here’s the disclaimer on the team’s Ticketmaster site: “Amalie Arena is located in Tampa, FL. Sales to this event will be restricted to residents of Florida. Residency will be based on credit... <a href="http://www.chicagonow.com/interesting-chicago/2015/06/lightning-fans-welcome-to-chicago-now-go-...

"We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields." (In Flanders Fields/John McCrae)
“All gave some and some gave all And some stood through for the red, white and blue And some had to fall And if you ever think of me Think of all your liberties and recall Some gave all” (Billy Ray Cyrus – Some Gave All Lyrics | MetroLyrics) Memorial Day weekend is upon us. Once... <a href="http://www.chicagonow.com/interesting-chicago/2015/05/memorial-day-remembering-the-dead/" class="more-link">Read more »</a>

Chicago is called the “City of Big Shoulders”. It is the city of big hearts. Emily Beazley waged a four year public battle with cancer. The 12-year-old left this world last night. According to her mother, she died peacefully. Emily’s fight brought out the greatness of our city. First, her Mount Greenwood neighborhood rallied around... <a href="http://www.chicagonow.com/interesting-chicago/2015/05/emily-beazley-left-a-legacy-of-love-hope-and-inspi...

Chicago history is the story of the gambler’s dream. Early explorers gambled that Chicago’s location would be a perfect hub for opening up the west and transiting goods to the Mississippi River. Early settlers gambled on the fur trade with indigenous people. Then there was the gamble of dealing with indigenous warlike people. Chicago’s open... <a href="http://www.chicagonow.com/interesting-chicago/2015/05/chicagos-gambling-problem-with-gambling/"...

There are many ways to be severely injured, wounded, or killed in Chicago. You could be bludgeoned, beaten, kicked, stomped, stabbed, shot, maimed by a two wheeled terrorist cyclist, or wounded and possibly killed by a goose. That is right. You can be killed by a goose or a gaggle of geese. These foul fowl... <a href="http://www.chicagonow.com/interesting-chicago/2015/05/chicagos-latest-violence-crisis/" class="more-link">Read more »</a>

The N.F.L. Draft is in Chicago. The James Beard Awards are coming to Chicago. If news sources are correct, the Obama Presidential Library will be located in Chicago. Hopefully the Lucas Museum will prevail and come here too. Chicago is on a roll. People from all over the world have reasons to visit our city.... <a href="http://www.chicagonow.com/interesting-chicago/2015/05/embrace-chicagos-bread-and-circuses/" class="more-link">Read more »</a>

; “The sun hadn’t yet set on the traditional first night of summer before the anguished cries of a mother pierced the air, and Chicago faced another senseless act of violence against a child.” “Gresham rushed to the car and found her daughter in a pool of blood. Jacele writhed in her arms as Gresham... <a href="http://www.chicagonow.com/interesting-chicago/2015/05/chicago-we-got-a-beautiful-city-but-it-has-some-evil-people/" class="more-link">Rea...

If the promoters of Riot Fest cannot get simple facts right, how can they be trusted to responsibly run a major event on Park District property, flooding a neighborhood with people from all over the world? Riot fest could turn into a riot.
Riot Fest, the over hyped concert series in the mud, is moving from Humboldt Park. Due to the bickering of two puerile aldermen and negative input from some community groups, Riot Fest will be be held in Douglas Park this year. In an announcement, long on hype and laced with errors, the promoters of Riot Fest... <a href="http://www.chicagonow.com/interesting-chicago/2015/05/riot-fest-is-coming-to-lawndale-where-dreams-go-to-die/" class="more-link...

Riding the ‘L’ can be infuriating at times. People are so self-absorbed they forget the subway is “public transportation”. Public, as in the ‘L’ is not your privately owned train car where you can do as you please. The station is not your kingdom. This inappropriate behavior is not confined to the young, though they... <a href="http://www.chicagonow.com/interesting-chicago/2015/05/rules-for-l-riders/" class="more-link">Read more »</a>

‘Target Bums’ posters, resembling the city’s “Target Rats” posters, appeared on various posts in the Bucktown/Wicker Park neighborhood. According to the Chicago Tribune, journalist, Bill Healy, discovered or reported the signs. He was described as being in “disbelief”. “Healy, who has worked on media projects chronicling the city’s homeless, said he was angered by the... <a href="http://www.chicagonow.com/interesting-chicago/2015/04/target-bums-o...
