It might still be spring but we have skipped it completely and summer is here - well for a couple of days at least.

Thursday has been the hottest April day in several years and Manchester city centre has been littered with people seeking relief from offices and shops with dodgy aircon units.


Enjoying the first days of glorious sunshine comes with its drawbacks though, mainly - intense sunburn.

Absolutely everything you need to know to enjoy the sun in and around Manchester

Manchester is set to be basked in glorious sunshine this week.

Temperatures are set to reach a balmy 21C on Wednesday - meaning Greater Manchester will be hotter than the sun-kissed Mediterranean island of Ibiza.


The Met Office say the skies above Manchester should stay sunny, until the end of the week.

Temperatures on Thursday are tipped to hit 20C again, and stay around 18C on Friday.

More cloud is expected over the weekend, but it will remain a pleasant, with highs of 20C on Saturday and Sunday.
