Windows Media Center to return? Oh how I hope it's true...
Windows 10 is expected to debut in the second half of 2015, and while users can already download and install the Technical Preview build to try out the new operating system, little is known about the pricing Microsoft is planning to use after the free year of upgrades and the SKUs that will be launched.

Do I? Don't I? I assume the soak test was successful, so it should be bug-free right?

Now this has suddenly become more appealing to me...
LONDON — How much computer can you buy for just $35? For fans of Raspberry Pi, a British-made computer aimed at children, hobbyists and tinkerers, the answer is quite a lot. On Monday, the British charity behind the minicomputer announced a new version that was significantly more powerful that ...

These are nice features, and ones I've been expecting/waiting for since the Xbox 360 came out!
Microsoft’s Windows 10 coverage included a generous heap of announcements about their gaming plans for the platform. The core of the XBox experience is now a cross-platform app. This XBox app will be available for Windows 10 PCs and Tablets. It brings My Games, Messages, Friends, Activity Feed, cross-platform gameplay & voice and text chat …

Yeah, people are always going to bash 8.1 as being a half-baked "in-between" OS, like Vista, but in my opinion it's more like Windows 7.2 - Windows 8.0 was a bit of a stinker. The changes for 8.1 are subtle, but noticeable when you try to go back to using 8.0.

This is the future... And mobile network providers aren't going to like it.
See how we use new technology to give you fast speeds, more coverage, and better connections to Wi-Fi.

"He wants the open source world to know that Microsoft now operates in new ways, that its not the company it was."

This new Microsoft is really impressing me.

One day, Microsoft could "open source" the code that underpins the OS---giving it away for free. So says Mark Russinovich, one of the company's top engineers.

Bonuses and perks might make people happier in the short term but they don't solve the underlying problem. Here's what does.

Mobile World Congress this week ushered in a range of trends, but one underappreciated development is the use of smartphone camera technology to do more than take selfies and cat photos.

What blows my mind when I think about it is that you could put the statement "How I lived without a smartphone" under all of those pictures!

This is the best restaurant I have been to in a long while. The ambience was just right, the decor gave a very cosy and "earthy" feel. The food was cooked to perfection and tasted wonderful. The presentation was amazing too (although I'm not somebody who marks food on how it's presented, it is worth noting here). The staff were all polite and helpful and did not frown upon our group being present in only "casual" clothes. As I think somebody else noted in their review, it's upmarket without being pretentious. I wish there were a restaurant like this near to where I live!

This is a lovely little shop with a small selection of offerings, but what is offered is far more diverse than you might find in a chain store. They have a small, but individual selection of gift cards (which is my usual reason for visiting this shop) and a variety of "trinkets" and unusual items. A great place to visit if you're stuck for gift ideas. The ambiance of the shop is pleasant, and my dealings with the people running the shop have always been pleasant too.
