You know you're out a little late on Boxing Day sales in Canada if:
(1) the sky is curiously grey not black
(2) you're not standing in a 200 person line up stamping your feet to keep warm
(3) baby strollers in the aisles
(4) still good sales but the 5 per store specials are gone
(5) it's almost time for the normal store hours
(6) the coffee shops are starting to fill up

Stood on a bridge near Port Hope waiting for Cpl. Cirillo's procession to pass by on the Highway of Heroes. Expected to quietly express my respects but not the honking and waves of support from the cars and trucks passing underneath. You're a great people, Canada!

+Juan B Exactly! We see so much daily that it's easy to have that happen. There were pockets of callous incidents during this that demonstrated that but a lot more that reflected deeper impacts of this attack.

This raises the bar on cloud storage/office docs...

In the Kind Of A Big Deal department: An Office 365 Home subscription ($100 per year for multiple installations or $69 per year for one installation) now gives users up to 5 TB of OneDrive storage---1 TB per user---free.

I have unlimited Flickr storage because I had premium before they cancelled it. We all got grandfathered.

For menus in some apps....
If the menu in your favourite app doesn't seem to be available, try swiping hard from the left edge of the phone (e.g. Player Pro).

Another creative reinterpretation of Canadian culture by this government.. Opinions may vary, but I'd bet that the majority opinion is that there is a "social contract" with our veterans and their families that shouldn't need to come to a law suit to defend. It wasn't just "political statements that were not meant to create a social contract" by past governments.
The federal government is arguing it does not have a social contract with veterans in response to a class-action suit brought by veterans upset with the compensation arrangement offered to wounded soldiers under the New Veterans Charter.

If the Canadian government expects their soldiers to serve their country, then the soldiers should expect no less in return. It's like reneging on the past sacrifices and all the issues they face. They should only be allowed to go ahead with this if it was a 'day forward' approach (however deplorable that sounds).. and let the future soldiers decide whether they want to put their life on the line knowing the govt is not there to support them.

Class act... Claimed in articles as our "Canadian coach" but all the better that he's also an American helping a Russian.

No country has a monopoly on generosity of spirit. As a Canadian, I loved the incident with the Canadian coach Justin Wadsworth, who gave the Russian skier a replacement ski so he could finish the race. What a Canadian thing to do, some said.... but he's American!

For those who have received shipping notice of North America  October Developer editions , when did you support (roughly)? e.g. I was about 650th, I believe, but haven't had any indication of shipping.

I'm as fine with that as can be under the "late shipping" circumstances and am just curious when others whose have shipped had supported the project. Whether you're #10 or #1990, I'm just trying to see if there's rhyme or reason to the order and where they might be at if they are going in sequence... e.g. the order might be arbitrary based on the degree of customization of the order, etc.

I don't disagree. The reason I get this information is so that you do.

Amusing but sad. I'm interested in +Microsoft 's Next Lock Screen, but it's listed as incompatible with my devices. It's probably a geofencing question not compatibility with a Nexus 5 (that they use in their promo material), but it's impossible to find out by contacting them through their email in the Play Store or the email listed on their Garage site due to "restricted to authenticated Sender." Not good customer relations, I'm afraid.

Tried that first, then their main webpage garagehelp@microsoft.com. Those are the only two ways hinted at in their Play entry. Both fail dismally due to the being "restricted to authenticated sender". Not a great way to get feedback from people trying to install your app, is it? ;-) Suspect it's geofencing going on, but only +Microsoft Canada Co. or +Microsoft could confirm.... somehow.

Maybe a little hard to read, but my N5 side-by-side with the Truesmart running Endomondo. Taking into account all that arm swinging going on as I walked they're pretty close 3.14 km versus 3.25 km.
