Probably old news to everyone else but just had a cool little mini-encounter in #TESO. I was wandering along minding my own business when some kind of lightning struck over a hill. I went over it and 3 skeletons were there.

I took them out and then another skeleton and this big Flesh ...something... spawned. He put up a good fight but I got him too. He dropped a blue staff, a glyph, and a few other lesser items.

I dunno if this was  just random or what... but it was cool, particularly given that I only logged in at 11 pm and out by 11:30. It was nice something cool happened!

I would LOVE to know what the XB1 version of the new Spiderman game went poof this close to release.  It's still on for the Xbox 360 so could it have been a technical issue they couldn't lick? Wouldn't a contractual dispute impact the 360 version too?

I wouldn't be surprised if we see it as a later release under the guise of some kind of bundle, special or some other promotion /deal

Maybe it was the result. I never read up on that

Maybe for you a smile?
Representatives from barbed wire advocacy groups are up in arms over the fencing material’s portrayal in a violent new video game.

Saved this to Pocket so didn't read it yet (so it might suck) but this line jumped out at me:

"about 37 percent of the roughly 781 million games registered to various Steam accounts haven’t even been loaded a single time"

That sounds like me!
We sampled public data to estimate sales and gameplay info for every Steam game.

Yeah I have that ex-press thing too. But also I think some part of me thinks the gaming industry is going to crash again. So I have all these games to play when nothing new is coming out. Of course that's never going to happen so... lol

At least I'm not spending $50-$60 on games I'll never play any more. There was a phase I went through where I did.

So H1Z1 will be the first SOE game to feature "Player Servers" which sounds cool if you're part of a big group. At first I thought they mean Private Servers but sadly no. This is more a "get enough people to vote for some odd rule set and SOE will spawn a server with that rule set."

Oh well, I was excited for a minute there.

Yeah it's certainly one of those "would be nice...IF it works" kind of things

I bought one of these Mohu Leaf Antennas for our upstairs TV. It came today. Plugged it in and set the TV to scan for channels and wow!

I get the major networks (CBS, ABC, NBC, FOX and PBS) all come in crystal clear. Like, clearer than the picture coming in via Time Warner Cable.

I get a lot of other stuff too...not sure any of it is worth getting. One channel was running Green Acres, another country music videos. But I just basically wanted the big networks up here...y'know so we can watch live news and stuff. Most everything else I can get streaming somewhere.

Kicking myself in the ass for all the months I paid $10 for a 2nd cable drop up here.

Luckily Charter doesn't require you to bundle services. So I have the 100/5 internet package for 89.99 a month. This enables us to download, stream and game with no hiccups. I pay for Amazon Prime and Netflix for streaming, and use eztv for next day downloads. This makes my choice of dropping my DirecTV service a lot less painful. I actually like the satellite service and quality, but when it comes down to it I know they're grossly overcharging for the service and nickel & diming us for the boxes, DVR service, HD, etc.

With just paying for the internet, amazon, netflix and dropping satellite it comes out to saving roughly 2k a year. Hopefully in the near future more cable/internet providers stop the archaic bundling lock in nonsense.

Lola and I got caught in a downpour tonight. I was wearing a t-shirt and almost went back to get a 2nd layer because I could feel it was getting colder but figured I'd deal with it. The rain when it came was COLD. We were on the greenway so I called +Angela Taylor to come rescue us. The closest intersection was further from home so I asked her to meet us there.

Lola was looking at me like I was crazy (she HATES the rain) since we weren't headed towards home. And we got to the road before Angela did and were just standing there, soaked. And I mean soaked. It was raining so hard it was like standing in a cold shower. And the poor dog was standing there shivering, looking at me like "WHY ARE YOU DOING THIS TO US!!? WHY AREN'T WE MOVING!!?"

She's been giving me the cold shoulder ever since we got home. I'll have to do something nice to make it up to her. Hell hath no fury like a puppy rained on, I guess.

She got her revenge this morning when she got me up at 6. :) Now all seems to be forgiven.

Enjoyed some cutting edge NEXT GEN GAMING tonight. I downloaded Backgammon Blitz on the PS4.

It kind of sucks. The controls are really weird and it's easy to move the wrong piece by accident, and there's no Undo even in single player mode.

I was playing the AI on Intermediate and it was dumb as a box of rocks. I'll have to go crank it up and see if it gets better.

Glad it was only $8 at this point. On and there's a "Demo" that is actually only the 'how to play' tutorial. Dear Devs: a tutorial is NOT a demo.

I did try it. It didn't seem very hard but I only played the first 2-3 'levels'. I was more annoyed that loading took more time than running through the courses, but I still enjoyed it a bit.

I also snagged the space shooter that came out last week while it was still on sale but didn't have time to try it yet.

Definitely not New York style pizza. The crust is thick, dense and completely flavorless. The toppings run right up to the rim of the crust in an attempt to cover up how mundane it is. It reminded me a lot of something from Papa John's or another chain. It wasn't actively bad or anything and if it hadn't been advertised as "New Yorker" pizza I probably wouldn't have been so disappointed. I grew up on Long Island and am still in search of pizza like we can get anywhere up there. I want a crust that 'bubbles up' and browns around the rim but is thin in the middle so you need to fold your slice in half to keep it in check.

Took my truck in for a scheduled service. Actually let's back up, I made my appointment via an online form, which I appreciated. Pulled up into the service bay, a gentleman greeted me, led me to his station and took all my info (my first visit to this dealer so he had to find my vehicle in the computer). Then he showed me to a clean, comfortable waiting area with free WiFi, coffee, tea and bottled watered. Said it'd be about an hour. Almost exactly an hour later my phone rang. It was him telling me the truck was ready. Went back to his desk, got my paperwork and off I went. Bonus: they washed my truck for me. My last dealer would give me a coupon for a free wash at some car wash a few miles away. I can't comment on pricing since my vehicle is still covered my ToyotaCare (my bill was $0.00) but I couldn't be more pleased by the way I was treated. Will definitely be using these folks as my dealer from here on out.
