Where do you fit in the political typology?  Here's an easy test made up by Pew Research.  There were a few questions I was unsure of, so I took the test twice and answered the other way on these questions.  But it didn't change the answer: I'm a Solid Liberal.  Add your score to the comment thread below to let people know how you rank.  There is no right answer.
Are you a Steadfast Conservative? A Solid Liberal? Or somewhere in between? Take our quiz and find out which one of our Political Typology groups is your best match.

Solid Liberal here.  Always considered myself rather progressive in the Theodore Roosevelt tradition.  Oh wait he was Republican wasn't he?  Funny how times have changed.

A heavily planned US raid into Syria has captured a treasure trove of computers owned by Abu Sayyaf, a key ISIS leader responsible for ISIS (stolen) Oil and Gas operations.  Abu Sayyaf was inadvertently killed in the heavy gunfight with US Special Forces.  No casualties for US Forces which apparently flew in on V-22s.
Abu Sayyaf, an ISIS commander, was killed in a raid by U.S. Special Forces in Syria. He helped direct the terrorist group's illicit oil operations.

The party of "Christian" values doesn't want anyone else using religion in politics... that's their game...

+Dave Harvey You are correct.  All Conservatives aren't racists.  But on the other hand, many of them are.  And Conservatives also suffer from a similar trait; xenophobia.

Giggles is very cute and looks like a "muppet-pig" compared to the snorting hog-pigs that I have seen previously.  Sorry. I have never seen any pig in real life, so I have to rely on TV images for my comparisons.  I grew  up in Atlanta, and contrary to some opinions,  not all Southerners have contact with barnyard animals. On that note,  I would be remiss though, if I didn`t mention that after living in Alabama for about a year,  we inadvertently became home for a stray chicken, (after some research we determined that she was a Brown Leghorn)  whom I promptly named "Peaches" She gave us an egg a day  for about a year until she disappeared as unexpectedly as she originally appeared. (I think either a coyote got her, or that sharp shinned hawk who had been stalking her for months).

The new "Collections" function on G+ adds a powerful data function; the ability to add any post to a specific "Collection" file that you define.  And if you set the access to this Community as yourself only, you now have your own personal data file that is visible to only you.  Its a free file cabinet!  And it only takes 1 click to get to you list of collections, and one click to select/save!!

+Rick Doyle I have a few oil posts that I like to look up once in a while.  To do this I had to go through a very large profile files.  But with this change, its easy.

I'm a FullTime RV'er travelling with my wife Peg and two cats, Oscar & Hannah
Introduction
Before we start:  I like politics, history, ISIS conflict status, science, physics, travel, rv, aviation & space, engineering, and climate subjects. We all cuss a little from time to time. But if you are crude, nasty, rabidly racist, homophobic, islamophobic, too stupid, mean spirited, overly argumentative, or purposely uninformed I will probably eventually block you. I value dissenting opinions, but do suggest that you should be able to back up your contentions with facts.  And I will periodically purge blueheads so put up a profile photo.  OK done.

I'm hopelessly eclectic......I like lots of stuff that is totally incompatible....especially when it comes to music, which drives those around me crazy.  My cat Oscar is named after Oscar D'Leon," el Leon de la Salsa"...

Although I was born in Rhode Island, I lived in Cuba from 9 months old to almost 15 years old.  But this was at the Guantanamo Naval base.  As a child, my family would vacation in New York and Connecticut.  But we didn't fly.  We drove from Guantanamo to Havana, then took the ferry to key west, and then drove up to Connecticut.  And then we'd drive back.

I love travel, photography, and history; maybe that's why I enjoy RVing.  I retired from Boeing in Seattle,  sold my house, and now live in a DRV 37 ft fifth wheel.  My wife Peg and I travel about 8 months a year and usually spend the winter in Florida.  We're  snowbirds.  Most of our friends just can't comprehend this lifestyle....

Politically, I'm a progressive; I really care about other people, which seems to be out of date these days.  I don't care.  Because of this I don't mix well with libertarians,  Lazzez-Fare types, and neocons.  I have no interest in "fitting in" and never have. I consider myself to be fiscally conservative but socially liberal.

I'm a poster boy for the dubious honor of having become pretty knowledgeable in investing, and have done stocks, ETFs, and options, all to no avail.  Too much win some, lose some. I've learned and rejected technical analysis and fundamental analysis.  My foray into options was the most safe where I was selling premium, which is a high probability bet. Because of my history in this area, I believe privatization of Social Security would be an unmitigated disaster.

I'm a techie within economic constraints and love our IPAD and my Chromebook.  I used to blog a lot and then stopped.  I now just use G+.  I use G+ to learn and exchange ideas, not to exchange baby photos with relatives, so I don't have a Facebook account. My main areas on G+ are American politics and economy, science, history, and photography.

My background is in aerospace hydraulic and pneumatic mechanical design, and aircraft monte carlo simulation. I was lucky enough to work for NASA on a work study program at the NASA Flight Research Center while going to college, and was able to participate in flight operations of the HL-10, M2F2, and X-24 lifting bodies, aerodynamic precursors of the space shuttle.  I saw the last X-15 Flight as well as the B-70.  It was quite exciting.

I worked for a year on landing gear after I graduated, and then quit and drove with some friends from Los Angeles to Costa Rica taking 4 months in a 4 wheel drive, camping all the way.  I visited many Aztec and Mayan Ruins, and then lived in Medellin Colombia for a couple of months.

I then returned to the US and went back to work. I designed or participated in the design of hydraulic motors on the F-14, F-16, F-18, and B-1.  I have two patents for hydraulic power transfer units, one used on the DC-9-80, and one used on the A320.  I designed or participated in the design of hydraulic motors on the F-14, F-16, F-18, and B-1.  I've also designed several aircraft hydraulic pumps, primarily the B-767 air driven hydraulic pump.  I was the Boeing Project Engineer on the pneumatic and control portion of the B-777 constant speed, turbine air driven pump system. Pretty exciting stuff for a ME.

I also wrote the Mathcad Monte Carlo aircraft fuel burn models for Boeing Fleets of 737, 747, 767, and 777 that predicted random flight profiles and real time engine and full aircraft performance from departure gate to arrival gate in order to determine real time fuel burn, and location for all identified major routes.  These models were run for thousands of flights in order to characterize fuel tank ullage volume for fuel tank inerting system design and certification.  This Monte Carlo and Statistical background gives me some perspective in climate change as part of this modelling effort included atmospheric modeling.

Since retiring I've been around the country several times and parts of Canada also.

I do have historical travel themes built into my travels.  My favorite was retracing the De Anza's trail from Mexico to San Francisco, which also basically includes most of the 21 Spanish Missions in California and several in Arizona.  Another is visiting the original colonial cities on the eastern seaboard, like New Orleans, St. Augustin, Savannah, Charleston, Wilmington, DC, NY, Philadelphia, and Boston.  Another is Revolutionary war sites.  And then there's the Civil War battlefields.  Another is visit homes of our founding fathers like Washington, Jefferson, and Madison.  And then there's the slave plantations of the precivil war period.  And yet another is to visit the Presidential Libraries.  So I've learned innumerable things about our history that most people have never been exposed to.

My traveling is currently on hold for the year as we save some money and wait for my wife to fully recover from a stem cell cornea surgery which went well, and cost only a co-pay with my ACA compliant insurance.  We may take some short trips to south florida this winter, but come next spring, we will be back to snowbirding for the next 9 months.

I'm not sure what is coming next, but isn't that what life is about?  I embrace change and I'm not about repeating what I did yesterday......
