I think I've just found a way to eliminate the Sunday morning religious solicitation wake-up problem. (Yes, I've heard the Good News.  No, I'm happy with my current faith.)
All I need is a realistic plastic snake to put out on my front steps like it's sunning itself.....

How did this guy get his money, if he can't think of the consequences of renouncing his US citizenship?

Ok, it's 2014 - why am I still finding recent C/C++ code functions returning 'int' and the only values returned are 1 and 0?

Spent the weekend (+ Friday) getting my youngest moved into her new college dorm, installing ethernet drivers in her roommate's desktop, seeing "Lucy" and "X-Men: Days of Future Past".  Must have been too exciting, as I did not sleep well last night.

Oh. My. God.
This, this a thousand times this.....
If you know the venerable, boisterous actor Brian Blessed, you probably know him as the leader of the Hawk-Men in the Flash Gordon movie, the voice of Boss Nass in The Phantom Menace, or his masterful performance as Augustus Caesar in I, Claudius. But you almost knew him from Doctor Who.

I had complained a while back about certain G+ posts that I could not mute - the option simply was not there.  Suddenly, starting about 2 days ago, I no longer see un-mutable posts anymore.

While I'm glad that it seems to be fixed, I'm concerned that it was never acknowledged as an issue

Reminds me somewhat of "A Deepness in the Sky"

Wow.  Amazingly prescient from a show that was not really a tech-centered show.

[Edit: change 'accurate' to 'prescient']
Why didn't we listen? The fourth season of The Rockford Files, arguably the greatest television show of all time, features a "futuristic" storyline about a terrible threat. What if a private corporation used computers to gather personal information on hundreds of millions of Americans? Could we trust them with that data?

Ok, it's started happening again - I have some posts showing up in my feed that do not have the 'mute' option in hte drop-down menu.  What gives, Google?

Green_Footballs I'm sure somebody would tell you that it's not EVOLUTION, it's MUTATION, and guess what Obummer's NOT doing about it?! Expand Collapse. Reply; Retweet Retweeted; Favorite Favorited. More. Embed Tweet. Charles Johnson ‏@Green_Footballs 11h10 hours ago ...

This is progress - let's hope they get more energy soon.

But the best part is the researcher they quote - Dr. Omar Hurricane.

Sould we trust our fusion project to a Dr. Hurricane?  Or will he relocate to an extinct volcano and hold the world ransom?
In a first, the fuel released more energy than it absorbed
