This story is just another reminder of how little respect photographers really get from both celebrities and the public.
Take for instance Marilyn Monroe versus Taylor Swift.
A big difference between Marilyn and Taylor is that Marilyn publicly credited and thanked her photographers repeatedly. She stated that photographers taught her a great deal about presenting and posing herself. Marilyn gained a sixth sense about how to position herself in regard to cameras and lighting, all thanks to photographers. Most of all, she never was embarrassed to admit that a lot of people, especially photographers, helped her get to where she was.
Then there is Taylor Swift (and too many other celebrities) who never thank their photographers, bully them, try to get as much free stuff as they can out of them and then try to silence them with the threat of lawsuits. The only reason Taylor Swift in particular backed down was the bad publicity her actions were starting to have, ruining her good-girl image.
On a more everyday level, photographers are barely respected by everyday people as the story above shows and the many horror stories about weddings, portraits, etc that we've all heard.
Sometimes I think photographers are masochistic artists for the trouble they put up with. Ha!
