I found Pet-U about 6 months ago after being turned down by a different local dog daycare provider because my dog growled. I found Pet-U when they were offering a deal on Groupon and called them immediately excited that there was another daycare in town to try. We scheduled an evaluation (they do charge $10 for this) - and in this evaluation they took my Gracie and calmly and confidently walked her into the back right by all the other dogs. The gentle but confident approach was exactly what she needed - she didn't have time to be scared or react. (This was very UNLIKE the way the other daycare evaluated my dog -- in which they left her in a caged in circle surrounded by 40 dogs on the other side of the fence and wondered why she growled and wouldn't enter on her own accord). Pet-U daycare has really helped my dog gain confidence and she has become so much better behaved with other dogs and is consistently getting better with strangers too. They also offer grooming, training, and boarding - but we haven't utilized this much. However, I do know someone who used the Board and Train program and was very happy with results. The staff seem to genuinely care about the dogs and your experience. Highly recommend

Update: Received a call from Dennis (the owner) who was very sincere and apologetic for what we had experienced so far. It was very evident that he really cared about making things right and would do what he could to correct the situation. It is understandable that oversights can happen and I truly appreciate Dennis's desire to correct the disappointments we had experienced. We were able to schedule a training evaluation with him directly and are looking forward to seeing what they can do for our dog. Very unhappy with Pet-U at the moment. I called the Milwaukee location on 11/27 and set up an appointment to have our dog evaluated for a board and train session on 12/18. The male employee I spoke with took my credit card number over the phone as you have to pay in advance and told me everything was all set and that they would have a receipt for me on the day of the appointment. Went there today for the appointment and was told by a female employee that they had nothing scheduled for us and no record of an appointment ever being made. This is after I called last week to confirm the appointment and was told by a male employee that everything was set and good to go. The female employee today offered no apology, no explanation, nothing, and I was spoken to like my being there I was an inconvenience to her. I requested that the employee have the owner call me personally within the next 48 hours as I am very unhappy with our experience and how we were treated. Should he do so and offer an acceptable apology and solution for what has happened I will be more than happy to write and updated review. Until then I am now left to call my bank and cancel the card number I originally gave them as I have concerns about their employee taking my card number and not processing it for the training appointment as they stated they would.

I used their day care for a short period of time until I saw what goes on there. I pulled my dog out and never went back. They take in way too many dogs for the space they have and the number of employees. I recognized it was a disaster waiting to happen which is why I never went back.

My experience with Pet U was amazing. I rescued a 2 year old pit with a lot of anxiety and aggression towards other dogs and would bare teeth at any person that seemed a threat to him. I picked him up the other day and he is a changed dog! The staff is so friendly and make you feel like your dog is being loved and given just as much attention than at home. Its hard to leave your dog for three weeks at an unknown place, but I couldn't be happier with the results. I recommend!! I couldn't have kept my pup without the help of Pet U! So happy!

A five pound dog was mauled to death, what dog did this? They will not say! Not too hard to see which dog or dogs did this as coco was lying in a pool of blood. Other dogs has puncture marks on other occasions.....oh it was the fence? What really goes on at Pet U is horrific. Regulations need to be put in place. Public awareness is key!

Wonderful staff, great facility! Really feel like Pet-U is a second home for our hound. We drop him off and he's greeted with enthusiastic smiles. They also keep him in-line and remind him of his training. While the dogs are free to socialize, the staff watches over them and keeps the dog world in order. I feel confident that my dog is safe and well taken care of when I drop him off for his day of socialization and fun.
