A little gender experiment confirms that Reddit is full of douchebags

And people wonder why Google insisted on real names for G+ accounts!
I can echo this. In G+ "international" I'm treated well, in G+ "home country", where my name is obviously female, I get men (and other women!) to gang up against me. Yet my belief is in fighting. So I open my big mouth in those situations. And I get many "third parties" telling me to close my eyes/"mute that post". In some cases, I conclude that I gained some respect.

Reddit is "read only" for me, so I have no experience. In "Second Life", my female avatar was never insulted, but my male/tiny avatars receive more consideration and respect. The most fair, egalitarian, intellectual community, I believe, is MetaFilter.
