Amazing resort. We paid extra for an ocean view on the top floor and the room was so nice with a great view and nice amenities. The pool and lazy river are nice. There's a nice deck with rocking chairs and an ocean view. Happy hour starts at 4:00 and drinks are good. There is a really nice private beach, this place has everything. Couldn't be more pleased.

My room was very nice and the roomside view of the beach was great. Overall service was good. Their beach is lovely. There is NO self-service parking and no smoking at all on the property. Be careful of their valet service; they damaged my rental car and didn't check before I left.

Everything has been great. However the cleaning staff for the room doesn't come everyday and leave fresh towels. We have had to ask for towels.

I recently went on a 4 day vacation to Fort Lourderdale with my family. We stayed at the Pelican and all I can say is "wow". This is by far one of the best hotels I have ever stayed at in my life so far. The hotel room was extremely clean and nice. Our room had a balcony which had 2 chairs and a table so you could eat or do something out there while looking at the beach. The room had very comfortable beds too, so I was getting a good nights sleep which was awesome. The hotel has a zero-gravity pool and a lazy river as well as its own private beach. The beach was absolutely incredible and it's probably the best beach in the state of Florida. You can also rent paddle boards inside the hotel for about $30 an hour (which is expensive, but certainly not unreasonable for an upscale hotel). They provide inner tubes for the lazy river, and overall, it's a very relaxing thing to do if there is not too many kids there at once. I never got a chance to go into the pool, but at a glance it looked very nice. The hotel also has its own on site restaurant, Ocean 2000. It serves mostly seafood, but does have a few land items on the menu as well. The food was delicious and you get a nice view of the Ocean if you choose to sit outside. The restaurant is public, so you don't have to be guests of the Pelican to enjoy that. The restaurant also serves a decent breakfast. I got the western omelet, and enjoyed it. Finally, the customer service here is the best you can possible find anywhere. The living room TV in the room was not working when we arrived, but the engineering guy came within 2 minutes of us calling and fixed it ASAP. The following day, my sister broke her sunglasses in the lazy river. We just happened to spot him, and he offered to tape them up of us (as a temporary fix) and then gave us an address to a cheap eyeglass place that could take the lenses out of the broken glasses, and put them into a new frame for a cheap price. The front desk personnel was also very nice, and offered us some helpful tips on what to do while we in Fort Lourderdale. The hotel also has an observation deck on the top level, where you can get spectacular views of the city and ocean. The only thing I didn't like about the hotel is that you MUST valet park your car, which is extremely expensive, at $30 a night!! Besides that, this hotel couldn't have been better, and I will recommend it to anyone that is visiting Fort Lourderdale.

Meh... I'd give it 2 1/2 stars but feel it is closer to two than three. I don't think it is a bad hotel but for me personally it did not deliver considering the price. The hotel is located away from most destinations, so you need to rent a car, pay for valet parking, and drive around if you want to see more than the beach, small pool, and never-changing menu. Service and staff are variable. Most folks are very nice and helpful but too many were not. I'm not one for overly smiley service but I'd expect one in the service business to be at least as polite to me as I am to them as a customer. Some of the staff was, some was not. A good hotel would make sure that the latter is an exception. Food was great on first day but the quality dipped considerably throughout the week and one dinner was terrible. Annoyingly there is practically no light in the outdoors restaurant at night (two candles per table), so you'll not be able to see much of your food. WiFi only worked on the first floor and was quite slow. On-Demand TV didn't seem to work either and the TVs were Cathode Ray, a technology I had not seen in quite some time.

Love love love it. Not a hotel if people want to be on main strip. But no problems getting taxi. Pool on small side but hotel right on beach so used that. Lovely bar and separate restaurant.
