First room had no AC and the suction vent was leaking water all over the floor.. All the women at the frunt desk were VERY nice and upgraded us to a king suite at no extra charge. The newely renovated rooms look great but Showers have low pressure and water doesnt get real hot.... Over all i like this place but for us personally next vacation we want something with a full kitchen and a little less $$.... Eating out everyday gets exspensive (we are a young couple who save up $ for a vacation) Eating out a few days is a must though .... Breakfast- The turtle inn & Robbies are amazing. Lunch/Dinner -Islamorada Fish factory, and Lorelie has great food and amazing sun set views ... we also do fishing charters with Bamboo charters... They have been here for 20+ years and WILL get you on fish.... I would recommend this place to a friend but i think for us, we will rent a home or condo next time.

We just stayed here last week and it was a great vacation nice, clean and convenient hotel staff could be a little friendlier and helpful would be the only complaint. Boat slip, suite, beach and pool where all good. Nice place to stay!

I purchased a King Oceanfront Room for two nights during the week to go to a friends wedding down in the Keys. During the drive down I contacted the hotel about how late we can check in, since I was planning to visit Key West for the day. They said they would hold our room until 11:00AM the next day. They also took our name for the Reservation, checked our room and said our room would be ready after 4:00PM. We had a great day down in Key West and arrived at the Hotel around 11:00PM to check in and get some much needed rest. At registration, we were greeted by a lady that looked like she was still serving time in a maximum security prison and had the attitude to prove it. She told us that our room had “water damage” and she had to change our room to a Queen Oceanfront Room. I asked her if anything else was open in this hotel or if she could give us a comparable room with a King Bed. Supposedly she couldn’t and this was the best she could do because the hotel was near full for the night. Just wanting to get to bed I said fine. She gave me a new total for the room which was approximately $90 less than what I originally paid. Even though I wasn’t thrilled, I was ready for bed and just wanted to shower off and go to sleep. We made the way through the property on our way to the hotel room. It was a little odd, the lady said they were booked up but the resort looked nearly empty. There were very few cars in the parking lot, granted this was during the week. When I got to the room and got all of our stuff up there I was ready for a nice hot shower and some much needed sleep. I went to take a shower and the water pressure did not exist! Especially, if you wanted any hot water. There was literally as much water pressure as a dripping faucet and it was cold! I was not thrilled, but hey it is the Keys, do not expect much. What disappointed me more was the room was extremely tiny and there was barely any room to move around (because of the two queen beds taking up the whole thing). In the morning I had a great view to enjoy of the Tiki Bar Roof, the pool, and oh yes, in the background, the ocean. Not the “Ocean Front” room I purchased. The worse part is even though I thought the room was good because it was close to the elevator, you could hear people getting on and off it bright and early in the morning which killed my sleep. I figured I would just “put up” with this because they adjusted my rate for this room. When, I checked out I asked about the adjustment being credited back to me, they said Orbitz would handle that and they provided me with a copy of the receipt with the new room total. Come to find out today when I called Orbitz and explained what happened, Orbitz called the hotel and the hotel said they “upgraded my room.” Then Orbitz told me there was nothing they could do and they couldn’t refund the adjusted amount back to my card. Even though I have a new receipt from the hotel. Let’s just say I am not thrilled with the Hotel nor Orbitz. Besides, getting a crappy room with a bad shower, the overall resort wasn’t too bad. The view from the ocean was ok and the Tiki Bar didn’t look too bad, even though we didn’t get to have a cocktail at it. Also, other than the check in lady the night we got there, everyone who worked there was polite and helpful.

Room was ok, showerhead a strange "just a hole" model but good water pressure. Wifi was blazing fast which is a huge plus in my book. We got a room here late in the evening as we were just travelling through and it is good for the price.

We stayed in this hotel for a one night stopover from Texas to Key West, 2 days before New Year’s Eve. The hotel was still undergoing a massive renovation, it seemed that they had been in a hurry to fix certain things for that busy period of the year but was still a building site therefore some fundamental services were not functioning well. There was a huge power generator placed underneath our room that which was not just noisy all night but emitted gas fume and burned diesel smell preventing us to use the balcony or open the door. After complaining at the reception the lady (not very polite or helpful) said that the generator was required to operate the bar area and would be turned off for nigh, which never happened. There is an on demand electric water heater under the bathroom sink which randomly works so having a hot bath is out of question as the performance is sufficient enough to heat the water volume required. The double queen room is extremely small for 4 people and there is no table either. The breakfast was more like a snack than a breakfast, no water or bread was offered but cereal bars, dried fruits with nuts, some muffin, frozen boiled eggs and pickled vegetables. I am sure that this place would be nice and picturesque when finally ready, however the renovation looks cheap and the place is massively overpriced. I will stay somewhere else next time.

The staff at the check in desk was extremely rude and VERY unhelpful, I dont understand why a hotel would continue to employee someone who wasn`t at least hospitable and nice, they are the first impression a guest sees when entering this place. Then after the trip was over and the bank card used to pay with was over charged by $250.00. I called back to the hotel and got the same rude woman on the phone and she refused to give me a reason for the extra charge, so I had to dispute the charge at my bank and got the problem solved to my satisfaction. I would NOT reccomend this place for anyone!!!

We chose this place for the location and it was perfect for that. The back of the hotel was on the waterfront so we could relax on the chairs and swings while enjoying a drink from their bar. They only serve food on weekends, so that is something to note. The rooms are not great, A/C unit was very loud, furniture seemed old, but it was clean. We just expected something a bit nicer looking - but it was fine b/c we didn't spend that much time in the room anyways.
