Share a link to let people chat with you on Hangouts

All you need to know is your profile ID number

The link is: .

https://hangouts.google.com/chat/person/[profile ID]

Your profile ID number is the 21-digit number at the end of
plus.google.com/[profile ID]

With vanity urls it's harder to find that number - one way to do that is:
1. Open your Google+ Profile at plus.google.com/me
2. Find a post of yours and alt-click your profile photo on the post
3. Select "Copy link address" from the menu
4. Paste the link in a text editor to see your Profile ID number

You can also find your own profile ID at this link:
https://developers.google.com/+/web/api/rest/latest/people/get#try-it.

Put "me" into the userId field and it will output your numerical id in the response. It's the number in the "id" field of the output.

(Thanks for the tip +Jordanna Chord!)
We have made a number of changes internally to Hangouts to fix some bugs around link handling on mobile. Not news worthy, but hopefully these bug fixes make things a bit easier for folks.

Did you know that you could share a link to let people chat with you in Hangouts? We use these links for certain invites, but they work if you hand build them and share them too.

Where the number is your profile id

With vanity urls it's harder to find that, but the easiest way is to use the public api call here https://developers.google.com/+/web/api/rest/latest/people/get#try-it. Put "me" into the userId field and it will output your numerical id in the response.
