Prototype Wiring

Peak’s unique blend of experience in mechanical and electronic engineering means we can offer practical advice to aid the design and development of an existing client design, or assist in the development of a design from scratch with our client. Fully finished assemblies are produced onsite, including the procurement of all materials with full traceability if required.

With a flexible approach we can supply quantities ranging from one-off prototypes, through to small and higher run volumes. Our process utilises Komax and Ecostrip automatic cut and strip machines. Cirris cable test equipment ensures the quality and repeatability of cable assemblies is maintained. The Cirris CH+ is a complete cable, harness, and wiring test system capable of testing assemblies up to 5,376 points at voltages to 1500 VDC and 1000 VAC.

With a vast array of expertise and experience in implementing everything from a simple cable to complex Multi-Rack Systems, Peak can realise all your requirements onsite under our strict process controls.

PCB Design and Build

Why do we use custom PCBs? For repeat build systems it allows the use of COTS cables or standard custom cables and this reduces manufacture and service costs. It has the added benefits of reducing wiring space and an easier to understand architecture.

Peak work closely with their customers throughout the Test System lifecycle to evaluate when and where it makes sense to implement this approach versus custom wiring.

PCB design, schematics design and assembly are all carried out onsite at Peak Production. We only outsource the layout and manufacture of the bare board PCBs.

Our UK-based production & onsite expertise means we can produce client-designed harnesses and wiring Looms that are 100% tested using our Cirris equipment.

Taking either a client design, or developing a design with our client, we can produce fully finished assemblies, including the procurement of all materials, fully traceable if required, and assembly onsite.

Our flexible approach means we can supply quantities ranging from one-off prototypes, through to small and large run volumes. The process integrates the use of Komax and Ecostrip automatic cut and strip machines.

We are happy to implement a production process that delivers to a client’s drawing specification. Alternatively, we have the expertise & experience that means we can design to a customer need, including the individual loom and harness components of an assembly and the overall cabinet layout.

Rack Assembly Solutions
Peak Production - Aerospace Test Solution


A key part of our business is the bespoke design of industry standard 19” test racks within which to integrate customer test electronics. Peak test racks have many unique features including:

Large doors on the sides and back giving access to the equipment housed inside.
Internal 19” instrument rack with slides.
Mains distribution and safety circuit box.
Fully configured back panel.
Inlet and exhaust fans.
E-Stop/safety/interlock circuitry.
Wiring for earth star point, mains distribution.
In addition to these bespoke test systems, we have designed our own PXI Desk and Modular PXI Test Rack, which have proved very popular with a number of clients. The Desk provides 13U of full depth instrumentation space and a further 6U of limited depth instrumentation space (rear mounted). It is ergonomically designed for a production test environment and includes:

Integrated VPC mass interface receiver adaptor, allowing for large numbers and variety of contact types, quickly and easily connected with one operation.
Wide body to allow for cooling fans on both sides of main chassis and at top rear of desk.
Internal (integrated) keyboard and mouse

The Modular PXI Test Rack is height adaptable to accept up to 42U of test instrumentation and includes all of the above benefits, has built in service panels, rack cooling and is specifically designed to fit through a standard single width door.

All of our racks are modelled in SolidEdge our 3D modelling Software. Modelling the racks help us to ensure that all the required equipment will fit in the rack with the correct spacing for airflow, cabling and accessibility. During construction we ensure all metal panels are grounded and cable looms identified. Incorporated in our racks is a safety box. This safety box distributes power and monitors emergency stops.
