Last night was board game night (as usual). We played a couple of rounds of Sushi Go, Tried out Cockroach Poker for the first time and finished with a game of Black Fleet.

Sushi Go was a disaster for me, I just couldn't seem to make the correct choices, but was still great fun. This is turning into a go-to starter for us after only a few games. It's fast, fun and requires the right amount of decision making for my group.

Cockroach poker was an eye opener. What looked like a simple game of bluffing and brinkmanship turned out to be a harrowing ordeal of agonising decisions and uncertainty- totally brilliant!

Black Fleet doesn't disappoint with its fantastic components and unexpectedly fast game play. It looks like the game is going to last a while but it's soon over and if you didn't get the most out of each turn you'll find yourself losing out in the closing stages. I felt I was close to winning but I got hammered at the end by superior play.

all-in-all a great evening.

Takenoko, whilst beautifully put together, didn't grab me with its game play.

Bought myself Specter Ops for Christmas. I wanted a 'Fury of Dracula lite' and this fits the bill with a great setting too.

I don't have the time to play Fury of Dracula very often and some of  the 2nd edition changes really changed the game for the worse from the excellent 1st edition. I certainly won't need to pay for a 3rd edition now that I've found Specter Ops -wish they'd spelt Spectre properly :)

Rodney explains the rules well (as he always does) one of my go-to Youtubers for board game info.

Good points well made. However, since the conspiracy nuts base their claims on wishes not fact it will fall on deaf ears.

Omni Trans brings its new monorail service to all the inhabitants of Rubi-Ka, even the benighted Clan areas.

This is a quick pre-editing photo dump so apologies for the odd out of focus shot.
