Paul Terry Walhus founded Spring.net (coworking, websites, video, and resorts) in 1991. He grew up in the midwest (St Louis, MO and Chautauqua, IL) and moved to Austin, Texas in 1980. He now lives on a 15 acre ranch east of Austin where he has built the Spring Lodge and a home. He owns two condos in the 78701 area code near downtown, the UT campus and the Capitol. He works out daily with exercise classes, cycling, swimming, weights, and fitness machines.
Recently he was in an article in Buzzfeed who called him the "original king of twitter". Walhus founded spring.net
(fan site for the Oscar winning Best Actor), austen.com
(Jane Austen world hq), http://austincast.com
and numerous other web ventures. He likes to bicycle around the UT Campus and attend social media and social networking events in Austin, there are a lot of them!
If you want to find Walhus' videos about the tech scene in Austin and SXSW do a google search for "springnet" and you'll find them. This search works on itunes, blip.tv
, youtube and many other video sites. He is releasing some of the 300 videos he shot at SXSW 2013 soon.
He is currently building solar "earthship" homes as well as more conventional housing on the 15 acre Spring Lodge in Cedar Creek, Texas about a half hour East of Downtown Austin and looking for folks who want to rent to buy small energy efficient homes or Airstream trailers.
