PERSONAL FINANCE TIP:
Getting rid of the clutter, stress and maintenance of having a lot of stuff lets you see what you have and pare down to what you love. Doing the same with bills prevents both material clutter and debt clutter.

BUDGET TIP:
Shopping at bulk stores doesn't help with budgeting when you're picking up lots of extras. Stick to stores and aisles that have only what you need so you can't be tempted to buy what you don't. Many grocers now have bulk aisles without the foray past the rugs and DVDs, for example.

MONEY SAVING TIP:
Every once in a while, a convenience purchase can be a nice treat, or a necessary exception if you’re in a great hurry. But if you find yourself regularly making convenience purchases, you’re just being lazy, and it’s costing you.

CREDIT TIP:
A dirty little secret of credit cards is that if you pay only your minimum monthly payment, you’ll never get out of debt. So, if you want to become debt free, you need to quit paying those minimum amounts and use all of your extra cash towards paying down your balances as fast as possible.

MONEY SAVING TIP:
Stop getting fast food every day and learn to make a few basic meals in bulk that you can enjoy throughout the week. Stop buying a pricey latte on the way into work every morning and get up 5 minutes early to brew a cup at home. A little extra work on your part could wind up saving you big-time.

PERSONAL FINANCE TIP:
Read something financial once a week. If you simply devote one hour of reading the financial news or a finance book every week, you’ll start learning more and more. Remember, knowledge is power.

PERSONAL FINANCE TIP:
Get in the habit of saying “no” to yourself once every day. By saying “no” to yourself, you’ll remove any sense of entitlement (which usually shows up as a justification for buying something because you “deserve” it). If you’re in the habit of saying “no” to yourself, you will be less tempted to overspend and buy things you can’t afford.

PERSONAL FINANCE TIP:
Set up a time where you review your finances regularly. This can be every day or weekly. Put it on your calendar as a reoccurring event. This way, you’ll know that’s the time where you review your budget, income, spending, etc. It’s the time where you make sure you’re being intentional with your money and in control of your financial foundation.
