I've been using plugins to optimize my WordPress database for years, but nothing has done the job as well as WP-Sweep. It reduced my database overhead from 98.6 MB to 12.9.

#WordPress #Blogging

http://paulof.com/2adT5BU
Over the years my WordPress database had become bloated - very bloated. Despite using WP-Optimize to keep the database in check, 12 years of content, many host migrations and export/import cycles had caused my database to balloon to a massive 98.6 MB in size. Needless to say, this caused more than a few issues when I recently migrated my site to dedicated WordPress hosting and importing the database was a nightmare. Enter WP-Sweep. Developed by W...

Jump on the Pokemon Go phenomenon to drive foot traffic to your small business for just $10 a day. It's a no-brainer for restaurants and other businesses that rely on foot traffic.

Back in February, I wrote a post about the biggest mistake I make as an entrepreneur which is not looking after my own health. Today I'm proud to say that just 4 months later I have lost 25 pounds and am down to 198lbs. This is the first time in over 8 years that I have weighed less than 200 lbs.

My next goal is 185, and I couldn't have done any of this without my wonderful with Sara who has kept me on the straight and narrow.

You might not believe it, but stopping to take care of my health and fitness is one of the things that has the biggest positive impacts on my business. I've talked before about work ethic, continuous self-education, and the hustle that is required to grow your business, but I've only briefly mentioned health and personal fitness as a personal goal for 2016. I constantly fall into the trap of needing to get that one last thing done before I leave ...

It's funny, no scratch that - It's sad how somethings never change. 6 years since I wrote this post and we're still afraid of the social mob.

#socialmedia #society #haters

30 years ago people complained about mainstream medias (it was the only stream then) coverage of the news and having too much control and influence. Today, thanks to the empowerment of the internet, we live in a world where decisions are based on the outrage expressed by a handful of people who suffer from a combination of too much free time and a distinct shortage of functional brain matter. You know of people I'm talking about: The dipshits tha...

A five-year-old post that still holds true today. So many bloggers and marketers miss the basics with their own sites, and not having a contact form must be the biggest faux pas of them all.

Not only do you miss out on potential opportunities, but you're denying your community a path to engagement.

I've said it before, and I’ll damn well say it again – “If you don’t have a contact form on your blog or site, you’re not worth my time following”. Having spent a large part of this morning building a contact list of local bloggers for outreach, I’m shocked by how many don’t have even the simplest of contact mechanisms listed on their site. I’m not even talking about putting your email address out there – how about a simple form so that I can rea...
