Just got a job solicitation for a Jr. ASP .NET developer position. This was listed under bonus skills: "Ability to interact with business personnel."

If you don't have that skill you shouldn't have a job.

Just switched all my erb templates in one of my rails apps over to haml.

I like it a lot. You don't have to worry about closing tags and the syntax is very minimal. It runs slower in development than erb does, but in production it runs about the same speed.

I guess it isn't true in the Church History dept, we have double the designers as developers, and none of us wear skinny jeans. :)

But the image of the web developer looks just like one of my old co workers. Keyboard, Coffee, camo cargos, hair and shirt, though the closest shirt he wore was "there are 10 types of people, those who understand binary and those who don't".
