Funny story. To me.
I got an e-mail from a guy in Montreal who told be he wanted to use my photo of the whale tail, (below)for the cover of the local edition of my towns Yellow Pages.
I live in Owen Sound, Ontario, which is on the Great Lakes.
I was pretty happy about this turn of events but it later hit me that the photo he wanted was one I had photoshopped to include a whales tail to add a bit of drama to the original photo. In no way did it represent a photo from Owen Sound.
I slept on this and phoned him the next morning. He is an art director contracted by the yellow Pages to find photos for local Yellow Pages Directories. I told him that my photo could not be used to represent Owen Sound because there are no whales on the Great Lakes.
He spoke with a British accent and thanked me profusely for telling him this.
The idea that whales roam the Great Lakes is funny to any North American who lives on the lakes, but to a Brit it must have'd seemed seemed totally plausible.
Anyhoo... I told him that I have many local photos and he got back to me an choose another one of mine. https://plus.google.com/+PaulMurphy/posts/2NWEdazGswm?pid=6167378648685008082&oid=112558317195655214279
