I need someone in Southern California to go grab one of these for me, KTHXBAI.

A few reasons why you should join us at Angel Stadium tonight to celebrate the last day of International Week (and our AL West Division title of course):

1. Free Oktoberfest Stein (while supplies last)
2. Over 15 beer selections from local breweries available with tasting packages in the Gate 1 Music Garden
3. Live entertainment (German Folk Dancers) in the Gate 1 Music Garden

More information here: http://atmlb.com/1mmdC7e

We hope to see you there!

People who don't know what I do or about the company I work for often ask why I am so proud to work at Blizzard Entertainment. If I could make a video that describes where that feeling comes from, it would look just like this.

On this day we remember the worst among us and the best among us.  This is a story I did on my blog remembering Ferdinand "Fred" Morrone.  I hope you will take a minute and read about him.  He is one of those who perished 13 years ago today, running into the towers instead of out, helping as many as he could to escape.  I've been blessed to have been able to talk with his son and his granddaughter in the years since I originally wrote this. Their warmth and kindness in light of this tragedy have touched me. For this and many other reasons I always try to keep Freds memory alive on this day, at least on the internet.

This can only mean good things for the neighborhood...
The telco says it will begin offering its 'GigaPower' service to Austin and surrounding areas this year, with further expansion and a 1-gigabit connection planned in 2014. But how much will it cost? Read this article by Roger Cheng on CNET News.

Introduction
You may know me as Paul, but if you met me online, you probably know me as Genda.  I founded and operated VanguardCrafters.com, as well as The Grouchy Gamer blog , cofounded the Casualties (of WAR) guild of bloggers and other internet active folks and a few other things I am not quite as proud of.

I no longer write very much but I still enjoy being active in online discussion about games and gaming.  I especially have an interest in the game business.  Anything I do post on here is strictly my opinion or view and in no way should it be construed as that of my employer.

I love online games and communities and as always I am excited for the things that are happening in that space.  I have managed to stay only slightly cynical about the gaming world while a lot of those around me have taken to full cynicism.  I imagine it's only a matter of time for me.  :D

Dahlia has amazing food and a great home-town atmosphere. We have tried breakfast, lunch, and dinner here and in every case it's been way above average. This is my favorite breakfast in the ATX metro by far. Not even close. Weekend dinner hours also usually feature live music and some amazing chef creation for a special. If you can catch them on a Shrimp and Grits night, run do not walk. A little remote if you live in Austin, but worth the drive every time.
