A fascinating listen from my morning drive.  I imagine I'll now notice the ambient sound more after being made aware of this.
NPR Social Tools
In movies, crowd noise, hospital waiting room chatter and barroom brawl sounds are created by voice actors called loopers. "If it's done right, you shouldn't even notice it," one sound mixer says.

A drunken driver made it onto the pedestrian walkway of the Golden Gate Bridge on Tuesday and drove 400 yards before his Ford Mustang became wedged on the too-narrow sidewalk, authorities said. The bizarre episode started at 5:10 a.m. when a boozed-up Daniel Soto, 22, made a right turn from Conzelman Road at the Marin Headlands into the Dillingham parking lot on the bridge’s north side, said Officer Andrew Barclay, a California Highway Patrol ...

1993 wasn't just a great year for music—it was a great year for insane technophobic episodes of CBS murder mysteries.

Setting up a Personal Weather Station was easier than I thought and pretty fun.  I can now stare at graphs at work and at home.

I recall an ex girlfriend giving me a hard time that I never try anything new after making a face when she asked if I wanted to try a plate of pickled veggies. She bought it, I tried, I couldn't do it.

Solid, sustainable, menu with decent drinks. A bargain for happy hour / prix fixe. Had dinner there on Christmas day. The place was full and the service was pretty good considering. The veggie burger was surprisingly good and unique. The Pot Roast did not disappoint and was comparable to the version served by Chow in that Bay Area. Bonus: even though we didn't order Prix Fixe our server structured out bill that way since we had ordered items that were on that menu.

I was hoping for better after reading the reviews. Margaritas were okay, food was pretty by-the-book. Fajitas came out sizzling and nicely charred. Cheese enchilada was a bit bland.
