The Tree of Hatefulness has borne fruit...
Officers Rafael Ramos and Wenjian Liu were shot at point-blank range in their patrol car Saturday by a man who, officials said, had traveled to the city from Baltimore vowing to kill officers.

Remember the crazy conspiracy theory about Harry Reid being beaten up by mafia enforcers? Remember how the right-wing nutbag spreading the story followed up with another rumor that Sen. Reid was actually injured in a fight with his drunken brother?

If not, see my previous post:
https://plus.google.com/+JeremyNixon/posts/WN82BvXEphy

When John Hinderaker at Powerline spread the first story, a guy named Larry Pfeifer heard it and decided to run a little test. He invented the story about Harry Reid’s brother out of thin air and told it to Mr. Hinderaker, to see if he would run a story with absolutely no attempt at corroboration. Sure enough, Mr. Hinderaker ran with it, and then Rush Limbaugh ran with it, and then the whole thing got out of hand.

“They had no problem using a story that had nothing but some guy’s word,” Pfeifer said. “Not one of them knew my real name. I didn’t even give them my phone number.”

And that, folks, is how stories spread in the right-wing bubble. No corroboration necessary.

A Las Vegas man claims he started a false rumor that the injuries suffered by Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid several months ago were the result of an attack by Reid’s brother, not an exercise accident. Larry Pfeifer, a 50-year-old former consultant in the nightclub and entertainment industry, said he ...

A man without honor.

...The younger Gurlitt had apparently kept the works hidden in darkened rooms.
...Cornelius inherited the spoils — apparently unaware of the art's origins.  "
 - Bullshit
A trove of 1,500 works of art plundered by the Nazis has been discovered in Munich, according to a German news magazine report — a collection that, if confirmed, ranks among the most significant artistic finds of the postwar era. The cache of modernist masterpieces looted  …

Political Shaun:

I don't want to live in a world where this happens and there are not legal and/or social repercussions for the horrible things people do to victims and their families.  This is the second high-profile case where local authorities did fuck all until the Internet had a shitfit and got higher-ups involved (in the last year or so).  This is the second case I can think of when practically the exact same thing happened to a young woman, and the entire town turned against her and her family.  Because nothing sends the message that you shouldn't report a rape like bullying, ostracization, getting individuals fired, and otherwise treating accusers like dirt (or worse).

This is rape culture.  This is wrong.  And it is evil.  Pure, unadulterated evil.  To throw shame upon the people who are responsible for this disgusting behavior does not begin to cover the absence of humanity here.

And that's all I can say right now, because I'm in fucking rage fits over this.
You may have heard my story, thanks to Anonymous who trended #justice4daisy. I'm not done fighting yet.
