The Crashing of Tides.

There is a interesting confluence that occurs in the brain when it’s been focused on a project so singulaly and for such a long period of time, and then that project ends. After a space of quiet all the thoughts you didn’t have for the intervening…

Bits from Deep Winter.

Ah, January, with your sobriety and need for useful activity. I suppose we better do you. I have a list of overlong posts to make, I got backed up a little with various things happening towards the end of the year, I’ll make it easy for myself by starting…

The short film showcasing the poetry animations we made for the forthcoming feature length documentary "War of Words: Soldier-Poets of the Somme" is now live on the BBC iPlayer. As discussed at the preview showing on Thursday Sebastian Barfield has done a wonderful job linking the poems back to the history and the landscape. It's due to be broadcast on 15th November and is well worth a look. But here is a taster opportunity to see the poems by themselves. Hope you enjoy.

The page for the Somme poetry animations we made is now up. The actual movie should be live sometime tomorrow.
More poets and writers fought in the Battle of the Somme than any other battle. This anthology of animated poems uses the work of Robert Graves, David Jones, Siegfried Sassoon and others to relay the experiences of these poets during the battle. The animations were specially commissioned for the BBC Two documentary War of Words: Soldier-Poets of the Somme. Show more / Show less

List of things that should have their own posts.

1. Honeyblood Heard this tune when walking past the radio at work, I only heard a few seconds and I was completely hooked. The album’s great (buy it). This track is called Choker, been listening to it a lot. “This song is loosely based on a short story by…

War of Words: Soldier Poets of the Somme - Broadcast Overview

I wanted to write some stuff about this programme sooner, but the events previously documented in this blog (which all began on the afternoon of broadcast) meant it’s taken me some time to take stock and collect all the things that happened as a result of…

Apologies if we have missed anyone on the Christmas card list. Things have been a tad up and down recently with the situation with Mum, poets going out, the funeral, the build going on and what not. But Dad’s with us for Christmas now and the children are…

I thought I would start posting these sketched here directly, as well as on Instagram.  It gives me more free reign to add rambling thoughts afterwards. Drawn without looking. I went in quite hard with the snapseed as you can tell. Pencil. Notebook: Ethel…

Introduction
I have been working in the CGI industry for 11 years. Studied Animation at the West Surrey College of Arts and Design (now UCA) and have had work shown at the London Film Festival. I work for Bristol based BDH Design and Direction and have worked on programs such as the BBC’s forthcoming “The Rise of the Continents”,  “British Style Genius” (winner of an RTS), "Wonders of the Universe" and also “The Boy with the Incredible Brain”.

In my spare time (!), I experiment with animation, and recently kept an Animated Journal.
