(this is why I use an ad blocker)
Since the summer of 2015, users that surfed 113 major, legitimate websites were subjected to one of the most advanced malvertising campaigns ever discovered, with signs that this might have actually been happening since 2013. Infecting a whopping 22 advertising platforms, the criminal gang behind this campaign used complicated traffic filtering systems to select users ripe for infection, usually with banking trojans. The campaign constantly pulled between 1 and 5 million users per day, infecting thousands, and netting the crooks millions each month. The malicious ads, according to this list, were shown on sites like The New York Times, Le Figaro, The Verge, PCMag, IBTimes, Ars Technica, Daily Mail, Telegraaf, La Gazetta dello Sport, CBS Sports, Top Gear, Urban Dictionary, Playboy, Answers.com, Sky.com, and more.

Want to help us make the world a better place? We're giving you $5 to make it happen!

You can buy something for yourself, or you can donate the money to Heifer International, the American Refugee Committee, or Doctors Without Borders. On Dec. 26th, we'll add up all those five dollar coupons and give the money to these organizations.

It's our way of saying thanks for being so amazing, and for helping us change the world for the better.

Happy holidays!
It’s the season of giving, so let’s make it a great holiday season for some great causes! Introducing the 2015 MCG Holiday Gift. We're giving you a $5 coupon for the MCG store. This is my cousin Rachel.  She's friggin' awesome, and she's a gamer, so that makes her even more awesome.  I like to think that I helped, since I let her play Doom while sitting on my knee when she was only 3 years old.  Aside from being a gamer, Rachel is also a nurse, and has set out on a career to help other people.  Now she needs some help from us.

Rachel has a very rare (like Black Lotus MtG card rare) autoimmune disorder called neuromyelitis optica.  It's so flipping rare that my iMac just told me to autocorrect to Nuremberg Obstetrician.  Go figure.  It's also called NMO, so let's just stick with that.  Rachel's had several bouts with this disorder already, but the last one has been the most devastating.  Two weeks ago Rachel was visiting New York with her family.  Just  hours later she was in severe pain, unable to walk.

Now Rachel is stuck in rehabilitation... at a place that doesn't have adequate WiFi for us to play Torchlight 2 together... and she needs to relearn how to walk.  This process can take 4-6 weeks, and then some more recovery once she's got her legs back.  Unable to walk, she can't go back to work, and her medical bills are gonna suck.

That's where we come in.

If you've bothered to read my post, please do one of two things:

1)  At the very least Like and Share the page.  You can help spread the word about NMO and ensure that Apple updates their autocorrect feature for this disorder's spelling.

2)  Decide that you aren't going to buy a coffee tomorrow, and toss Rachel a couple of bucks (or $20, if you drink Starbucks like me.)

Let's help Rachel get back on her feet so that she can get back to helping others get on their feet.
My name is Rachel MacLean, and I have an extremely rare autoimmune disorder called neuromyelitis optica (NMO) . My immune system attacks my optic nerves, spinal cord, and other parts of my central nervous system. I was diagnosed in 2012 after my first bout of transverse myelitis that left me wit...
