Recently I've been playing around with various RAW processors and comparing them to my default of Lightroom 5.
The album below were processed in Capture One Pro 8. The process was open raw in Capture One, crop and export to JPEG. I could have done the same in DXO Optics or Olympus Viewer. LR5 on the other hand, despite using an import preset, would require significant tweaking of contrast, noise and sharpening to achieve a similar result.
Now I'm working on a new workflow that still uses LR5 for cataloguing but another tool for Raw processing

I was lucky to find out about thepatersonproject.com and attended opening night. It featured artworks from 100 top street artists on the inside of a building about to be demolished.

The aim was to raise at least $15,000 for the Royal Children's Hospital in Melbourne.
For more information about the project see:

There is also one for the EM-10, but not for the EM-1

I have an equivalent, for my EM-1, which appears to be pretty much the same, got through  Really Right Stuff and it is really good:). I also have one on my old EM-5. Ditto comment!

A few shots from WhiteNight in Melbourne processed with different software
1st shot in each sequence straight out of the camera JPG
2nd shot RAW saved as JPEG without editing using Olympus Viewer 3
3rd shot RAW processed in LR5 and saved as JPEG with no editing
4th shot RAW processed in trial copy of CaptureOne 8 and saved as JPEG with no editing

Camera was set to low Noise Reduction for all shots
Not the best shots I've ever taken but useful for this test

My least favourite processing is LR5
It's not a very scientific test as I forgot to ensure consistent resolution for all images, but I would need to do more work in LR5 just to match SOOC JPEG compared to other packages.
I have a copy of DXO Optics 8 but it can't handle images from the EM-1 but past experience is that it too is better than LR5.

Now my dilemma is choosing:
great workflow using RAW in LR5 (which is great for low ISO images) Using another tool to process RAW then save as potentially multiple DNG/TIFs
Just use JPEGs and LR5 and use RAW only if essential

I tried DxO Optics briefly - it's not an artists tool for soul but has heaps of database for lens and sensor corrections. LR5 has the camera profile choices at the bottom of the Develop panel - before them, I didn't like it so much. It has good NR and I like the tonal sliders, clarity and vibrance. Capture One, haven't tried. OV3, I can't find the highlight recovery and the Crop tool can fool you - the Crop / Aspect ratio setting is in three places, one in the JPEG panel, one in the Export settings and then in the Raw panel - if you don't know why it doesn't work, that's because one of the panels has locked that. On my desktop computers, not fast, some parameter changes require 20 secs or more to visualise

Has anyone had problems with the FL600R flash - I just noticed mine has lost half it's foot. It hasn't been dropped or mistreated in any way.

Also does anyone have recommendations for m43 flash, preferably:
- Supports TTL FP mode (handy for event photography)
- Capable of manual power settings
- Same or more power than FL600R

A few photos from Moomba, this year the crowd seemed to be much bigger than the last few years.
It's a typical Melbourne parade celebrating diversity, some children friendly floats and Storm Troopers.
