If I added you to my circles recently, I'm playing around with SimCity BuildIt on Android.  I've played many hours of SimCity in my day, including some good times on SC5, even though it was a really bad launch and buggy.

I've heard similar reports, but have not decided to sink my time into it... yet.  Agreed on small land areas.  Also, pedestrian and traffic pathing and thereby deliveries, trash pickup, etc, were not close to optimal and sometimes just broken.  Not easy computing problems to solve, of course, but what they implemented had a negative impact on game play.

If you are a gamer you should spend a bit of time playing Eve Online.  The game has a great sandbox ecosystem.  Crazy stuff is going on all the time.  Give it a try, read up on the meta-game, and listen to some related podcasts.  The shenanigans are brilliant.  Free extended 21-day trial from the link below.
EVE allows you to discover, explore and dominate an amazing science fiction universe while you fight, trade, form corporations and alliances with other players.

I'm glad I have the knowledge to flash a ROM with my own set of audited rules.  Or so I think.
I expect that in a few years autonomous cars will not only be widely used but they will be mandatory. The vast majority of road accidents are caused by driver error, and when we see how much deaths and injury can be reduced by driverless cars we will rapidly decide that humans should not be ...

Best thing.  Should have done this eons ago.  My Jelly Bean emulator is now as fast as my phone.  Butter.
Abstract: If you are an Android* developer who is unhappy with the performance of the Android emulator, then this document is for you. Over and over again, we have heard from many Android developers that the emulator is slow and painful to work with, but this should not be the case!

Yea, it would be more accurate for me to say that it is at least as fast as my phone.  Or, to be fair, my scientific assessment is: "Oh, this emulator isn't crap."

I'm curious about the internal customer support or development experience that led to this error message.

The developer candidates in the Atlanta area need to step it up, frankly. You have been developing for 18 years and you don't know how to traverse a linked list?  You have been developing for 25 years but you don't know any object oriented concepts?  You have been developing for 10 years but you don't know why you would choose a linked list over an array?  I understand the enterprise rapid development trap... wire-up all the foundation classes together and you have got yourself some crappy software that the client likes.  I get it.  My advice to you is take some time to work on classical computer science problems.  You will write faster software and you will be able to troubleshoot more efficiently.

Today's developers have gotten lazy.  I remember having to write code that could fit in < 64k of memory.  We didn't have optimizing compilers that made our code better, we had to know how to write proper code.  then along came these new fangled IDEs that did everything for you, and developers got even lazier and had no clue how the internals of their code actually operated.
