Leonard Nimoy
Like most of us, I was saddened by the news of Lenoard Nimoy's death on Friday.  I grew up on Star Trek, and as a kid Spock was my favourite character. I can still remember a plush Spock doll I had, which I held onto until ...

A Turn of Events
Last week I was talking about trying to raise the money to pay for Red Skies to be edited. This week I'm delighted to say that, thanks to a refund of overpaid tax, I have the money to get the edits done! This places me nicely...

Onwards and Upwards:
We're nicely settled into 2015 now, and it's definitely set to be a busy, but productive, year for me. My freelance editing work is moving along. I'd like to get some more clients, so if you guys know anyone looking for an ed...

As we get to the release of arguably the most controversial movie adaptation of a book ever, I'm talking about authors being honest in their decisions:

The new cover for Lady Raven is here:
A couple of months ago I pulled the print edition of Lady Raven from sale because I'd made mistakes with the cover design that I hadn't realised, such as the trim dimensions I'd chosen. This necessitated the development of an...

Seeing Women's Issues From a Male Perspective
It's been over a week since my last post. I'm sorry about that. I've been dedicating a lot of my time to completing Red Skies so I can send it to my editor. With this post, I'm fully expecting to receive some flak. And honest...

Thanks Gav :-)

I've only backed a very few things on Kickstarter. Typically things I knew I would want for myself eventually, from creators with a proven record of producing good products.

As a creator myself, honestly I can't see myself ever using Kickstarter after what I've seen lately. It seems like it's best-suited to people who have the means to create the basic product, or have it completed already, and want to jazz it up a bit, or as a promotional tool for a product that's going to be made either way. For someone like myself, seeking money just to get basic things like editing paid for, with no idea of what could be provided as stretch goals, and no way to make a promo video, I fear I'd be neither successful nor well-received by regular Kickstarter backers.

Introduction
A child at heart who turned to writing and roleplaying games when there simply weren't enough action figures to play out the stories he wanted, Paul Anthony Shortt has been writing all his life.

Growing up surrounded by music, film and theatre gave him a deep love of all forms of storytelling, each teaching him something new he could use. When not playing with the people in his head, he enjoys cooking and regular meet-ups with his gaming group.

He lives in Ireland with his wife Jen and their dogs, Pepper and Jasper. Their first child, Conor William Henry Shortt, was born on July 11th, 2011. He passed away three days later, but brought love and joy into their lives and those of their friends. Jen is pregnant again and is expecting twins.
