Kit Miles – Baroque for the 21st Century – ptbk.co/1W3S9Ac – Patternbank are a big fan of the beautiful draughtsmanship found in Kit Miles‘ work. Miles has recently been awarded the 2016 prize for best new designer at this years Homes and Gardens designer awards. Not surprisingly Miles is an advocate of the skills for drawing, enabling wonderful and often surrealist imagery to be incorporated into their designs. Miles formed his studio after completing his MA at the Royal College of Art and has since worked on projects for Duplex’s Colour Futures exhibition at Somerset House for the London Design Festival and a new line of fabrics for Liberty of London.

We are looking for guest contributing editors to supply inspiring articles that will creatively fuel designers, brands and the design community. All that’s needed is a selection of sized images and a couple of lines of text explaining about the subject.

New on #patternbank blog → Rachael Grant – Nature Series – ptbk.co/200P4PK – Inspired by nature and with a love for vintage books, postcards and found bits of paper, collage artist and illustrator Rachael Grant assembles these beautiful montages. There sometimes freakish and awkward groupings are what makes them so interesting and depicts the sometimes fragile environments, where nature collides and becomes vulnerable. Patternbank love the vintage quality to Rachael’s work, made contemporary by adding strong colours and unusual layouts.
