I am a database and algorithm programmer working in the field of birth defects research at The University of California, San Francisco. I also write science fiction and am fascinated with the rapid advances in genetic engineering and artificial intelligence. In 30 years or so, computers and the software running them will match our intelligence, then surpass it. What then?
I've written a 600 page science fiction book about a possible end to the human species, but not via the typical dystopian future or calamity. It will be available in March, 2014. I'm 300 pages into book two.
I post photos and more science oriented topics. I am interested in many things besides photography! Any branch of science, humanities or the arts is fair game for me. My politics are centrist, so you will not get extremist or concrete thinking here.
For my photography, I scour the landscape and seascape looking for the best views at the right moment.
I learned how to do photography by observation and studying the works of the masters of landscape painting, and so can you!
I have also written a 325 page PDF eBook that will help you to develop the sort of vision that will put a fine work of your own photography on your wall. Go to my photo website below. I discuss how the greatest painters in history created their masterpieces and how modern photographers can learn time-tested methods for creating fine works of art with their cameras. There are no easy answers to developing vision, but fortunately we can learn from the old masters!
