An incredibly insightful column by healthcare analyst Yuri Teshler.
Tying corporate wellness incentives to wearable technology metrics in their current form is bad for the individual, because nearly every fitness or activity tracker prioritizes 10,000 daily steps as the primary norm. There are many problems with this approach.

BOOM!
I have been waiting for this day for a very long time. Google’s success with Android and Chrome OS had to eventually find some sort of merging of the two platforms. I am still not convinced that Chrome OS will remain its own operating system, but that’s for a different [...]

Healthcare analyst Yuri Teshler assesses Apple Watch's true potential in health and wellness. Both Yuri and I got the chance to tour Apple's Watch health and fitness lab, talk with the leadership team.
Recently, principal analyst Patrick Moorhead and I had the opportunity to visit one of Apple's labs for studying human movement and activity. The investment into broadening the Apple Watch's measurement abilities is nothing short of extraordinary. Near Apple's campus in Cupertino, CA, is a cloistered facility where for the last [...]

Always enjoy seeing the "open" in Oracle OpenWorld. Open to what? Open software? Open APIs? Open OS? Open industry standards?

On Monday, seven technology companies announced that they had reached an agreement to develop and implement an interconnect that would enable different vendors’ CPUs and accelerators to talk to one another while sharing main memory. Specifically, Advanced Micro Devices, ARM Holdings, Huawei Technologies, IBM, Mellanox, Qualcomm and Xilinx jointly announced that [...]

Is it time to reassess VDI? Column on VDI and the new Tesla M10. Special callout to senior Moor Insights & Strategy analyst Gina Longoria.
NVIDIA is well known for its leadership in graphics processors (GPUs) for gaming, but their business is quickly diversifying with significant growth in other areas like their datacenter and automotive businesses. Within the datacenter, NVIDIA has been evangelizing a vision for a number of years about the benefits of GPUs for accelerating workloads in high-performance computing [...]

For an enthusiast card, the NVIDIA GeForce GTX kicks butt on pretty much every vector, including enthusiast "value". Great testing Anshel Sag.
VR and gaming analyst Anshel Sag performed all tests. The NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 launch in Austin, Texas during Dreamhack was most certainly one of NVIDIA’s biggest to date. They flew out hundreds of press and a few analysts, including myself and my colleague, Anshel Sag. We learned a lot of [...]

Insightful column on NVIDIA benefits and competition by Moor Insights & Strategy AI and HPC senior analyst Karl Freund.
NVIDIA's Automotive and Datacenter market segments were especially strong, driven in large part by demand for NVIDIA’s accelerators for Deep Learning (DL) applications for Artificial Intelligence (AI). NVIDIA has strong products and roadmaps and few serious competitors. However, when fast growing markets get large enough, a gold rush ensues; startups like Nervana and large players like Intel and Qualcomm are developing their own products to join ...

Caesar salad dressing tasted like mayo. Chicken terrine on the salad was extra $10 and was like canned chicken. Limited cheese on the salad. WTH? Completely different from what my wife ate inside the restaurant weeks ago. Ordered through through Favor.
