Hey folks,

I'm looking for experience and/or rumor about using 500px as a stock photo platform. Anybody know if they play fair, or if there's reason to not try and sell stuff there?

thanks!

I just got word from Mayor Caldwell's communications office that Bill 53 CD2, FD1 - Relating to Open Data was signed into Law. Thanks everyone for supporting this process through testimony with the Council. Now the City joins the State of Hawaii in codifying open data and with it we can push for a more open and transparent government.

So I recently participated in the kickstarter for the veronica mars movie, which has raised $3.6M (so far, of the $2M goal). A couple days later I came across the One Billion Bicycles project, which has a goal of $10k. They're up to $670. I couldn't not donate more to this worthy bicycle project than to veronica mars. Please check it out.

The Oahu Bike Plan calls for a bicycle path running along the rail road tracks, going from Makaha all the way over to the Pearl Harbor bike path. On 2 Nov I went for a small exploratory ride alongside the tracks (as much as possible) heading west (north) from Kapolei to Nanakuli. My basic conclusion is that a lot of work is needed before this route is really usable by "average" bicyclists. That's totally, completely true if you attempt to stay within the 10-12 foot margin around the tracks where the right-of-way exists for the future path. I don't know when this project will be completed, but I am convinced that when it is, connecting all the way from Makaha to the stadium in Aiea, it's going to transform bicycling in this region of Oahu.
