Chick-fil-a night at +Prasco Park... Thanks for the free chicken, and the 9-3 win by the Spikes!

Keep the puppies and small children close to the house today... a neighbor just pointed out a falcon on the swingset enjoying a bunny lunch... and it was a BIG sucker! It could easily snatch up a yappy dog in a blink. Very cool looking!

Take a week off of work... have 2,371 emails waiting when you get back. Nice.

Somewhere in the 1800+ range was email from various system status messages. But it was a busy email week aside from that as well!

Once you sign in to a game in Google+ I don't see a way to remove that game from your profile. Maybe I'm just not seeing it, but I can't believe that Google would be that stupid after all the problems over on Facebook. Seriously!?

So there I was... aimlessly wandering the aisles of Walgreens... a pack of razors in one hand, Axe Phoenix in the other... when I spotted it: Extra Dessert Delights - Mint Chocolate Chip gum. Aside from Big Red, a person really doesn't need anything more than standard mint flavors. But this was mint with CHOCOLATE, so I couldn't resist. What followed was nothing short of Willy Wonka-esque amazing! The first couple of chews seemed like an okay flavored mint gum, but then wait for it... wait for it... BAM! Chocolate Chips! I don't know how they got them in there, but I love this chewing gum! It REALLY tastes like mint chocolate chip ice cream. Yum!

You are just jealous that Axe Phoenix makes me a chick magnet. Couple that with my Mint Chocolate Chip gum, and I'm going to be completely irresistible. I'll be swatting the ladies away like flies! =)

Even my 13yo son corrected someone under his breath the other day on "clip". He didn't want to make a scene, but I saw him mouth "it's a magazine" to himself and roll his eyes. The word "purchase" gets used all the time on XDs vids... along with "aggressive" grips. =)

You taught your son well.  I use aggressive in regards to grips

Nice review, with a great format. It's like you are just out for a stroll with a friend. I love your range, too. Can I come out and play? I'll bring snacks. =)

I don't care who you are... Maryland's football uniforms are badass! It's the state flag of Maryland, and it's cool! While all of the Penn State helmet-lovers are still trying to catch their breath over Ohio State getting crazy and adding a second stripe color to their helmet in 1967, someone finally strayed away from the logo-on-each-side-with-a-stripe-down-the-middle, and I love it! I hate to actually put this in print, but I admire Michigan for having a creative helmet design that's pretty cool looking.

All you whiney commentators and sports writers can go sit with Joe Paterno in the press box and watch the most boring helmet in sports if you want... I'll be in College Park!

The good... This is a beautiful outdoor area with a nice covered range. There are various distances to shoot from for different skills and firearms. The price is unbeatable at $5/day or $24/year. You do not have a time limit, but can just be courteous depending on if folks are waiting. I find that the shooters here are very friendly and helpful with each other generally. The bad... Because there are not automated returns for targets, ceasefires are called pretty frequently to tend to targets. This can be frustrating sometimes. Occasionally, you get Yay-hoos who come in loud-mouthed with hand-cannons and don't follow the range rules very well. This doesn't happen often, but it ruins the fun as compared to a private range or your own property. The neutral... There are frequently new shooters on the range, which isn't a bad thing, but it's something you have to be aware of. Range Officers aren't consistent, but always have your best interest in mind. Sometimes they are on the line to enforce the rules VERY closely, and sometimes they leave it up to the shooters more and don't interfere. They are nice guys though, and don't get enough credit for keeping us safe.

Scott and the guys at Firepower are top notch. Friendly, helpful and professional staff. They don't have the "characters" that tend to work at some of the other local shops, and sometimes make people feel uncomfortable. They have recommended training to my family (which we did, and were happy with), helped in selecting firearms, and make both my wife and I feel very welcome and valued there. A good friend of mine brought a trade-in, and they actually paid him more than he originally asked for because he undervalued it so far. Overall a good group to work with. Scott will make sure you are happy and want to return.

This is a very clean, friendly campground. Restrooms were in good shape, the pool and the facility is well maintained. It's located conveniently off the highway, but just far enough away to not have road noise. It's close enough (15 mins?) to Kings Island and The Beach if you wanted to go there for the day. There were a couple of odd things that keep me from giving it more stars. Combination locks on the bathrooms which makes it hard for kids to go on their own. The small-ish pool shuts down early. The office staff chats with the seasonals while you stand waiting for service (multiple times this happened). Selling "Twinkies" in a genuine Twinkies box with generic look-alike snacks inside. And checking out on a Monday morning, there were literally 50+ open sites, not a single new camper coming in, our rig was 100% hooked up to the truck and ready to roll out, and we weren't allowed to let the kids have one last dip in the pool because it was checkout time! Ha! I *want* to give it more stars because it's a nice campground with some very nice people, but some of the oddities just make it less fun. Oh - and bring a 50amp to 30amp converter with you, or purchase one from the store for $20.

Took the NRA First Steps Pistol Orientation with Doug at LMT, and it was fantastic! My wife, two tweens and I learned so much in a few hours. He engaged the kids while still keeping the material detailed enough for the adults. Time was spent not only teaching the family the proper techniques, but was helpful to show my wife and I things to watch for to improve safety and fun once we were on our own. I feel much more confident now, and more comfortable knowing that my entire family has a better understanding and feel for handguns of various types and styles. This course included classroom instruction as well as range instruction.
