I don't mean to poop on anybody's parade or anything like that... but, that was NOT a Linda Ronstadt song! that was a song that was written and performed by the Everly Brothers. Linda Ronstadt covered it in the seventies. I guess thats why nobody remembers the Everly Brothers version.

+Patrick Adkins Patrick... Way to go! This is called ignorance. You find it with Michael Bauble calling in public "You don't know my by Ray Charles, where it is 1956 Janice Jones for Eddie Arnold. ignorance par excellence.

I love the unscripted comments. Which is more realistic than the infomercial that you guys shot. The "holy shit!"and "that's some serious ass fire!" is what I would expect from a shop instead of the scripted stuff in the infomercial video that you guys put out.

I don't know about you all, but when that song gets to the part about "help mommy her wrists are bleeding" I get misty eyed..

That's some seriously heavy shit and it's all based upon truth too. This tune was written around the time, from what I've read, when Kim tried to kill herself.

John Bonham was good when led zep 1 came out. Then he was young and somewhat sober. Bonham could do his triplets properly and they sounded awesome. Later, when he got older and more famous and more drunken, his playing was horrible. Even in this video, you can see where he screwed up his triplets and tried to recovered but could not. If it were not for the fact that he was in Zeppelin, he would remembered as a mediocre drummer at best. Before anyone asks, Yes, I am a drummer and I know what I am listening to; and yes, he made many terrible mistakes; but it was overlooked; because....Zeppelin! Just my two cents.

No, you don't know what you are listening to PAT. . . you are confused at best- that's one concert and one solo. "mediocre" BLASPHEMY son!!!!!  You better sell your drum kit and ask forgiveness.
He played from 69' - 80, and from 69'--73' played 100's of concerts every year generally 3 hours plus with a 20-30 minute drum solo in almost every concert! He is rated/elected/voted as the best drummer in Rock and roll in numerous polls, and even voted by musicians as being the one drummer who people would want back from the dead (strange poll isn't it?) Keith Moon came on stage in 77' LA Forum and rambled on about he was the best R&R drummer alive. John Bonham was BEAST and a force of nature . . . case closed!

This school is now closed and has been for a few years now. I went to this school in the 1990's. It was ran by a great man of God, the late Dr. Parish. I only wish Dr. Parish had lived to see me come out of Pentecostalism and back to the Baptist faith of my youth. May he rest in peace. -Charles Patrick Adkins

I was saved in the original incarnation of this Church on June 7, 1982, at the school ran by the founding Pastor Larry N. Dennis. At that time, the Church was a predominantly white Church with a few and I mean, FEW minorities. The Pastor, Larry Dennis was a wise man, who loved the Word of God and seeing souls getting saved. He also had a strictness when it came to music and dress. He also was quite strict on doctrine and practice. A few years ago, I went to visit this new Open Door Baptist, which was, for what it is truly worth, a result of a merger, between Downtown Fundamental Baptist and the Open Door Baptist that I was saved in, which occurred in 1995. Sadly, Larry Dennis resigned his position after martial infidelities were exposed. The Original Open Door Baptist continued on with Chris Warden being the Pastor. Needless to say, when I visited the new Open Door Baptist Church, I was very highly disappointed. What used to be a great Church, was now just another ghetto Church. The intelligence in that room that day, could have been put on the head of a needle. Not to mention the fact, that there is a cult of personality, the surrounds "Pastor" Lawrence Mendez. It is a true pity that Jack Polly could not have found someone else to Pastor that Church. So, to those who remember the old Open Door Baptist Church in Detroit. Take it from someone who was saved there, many years ago ---- stay away. That is not the Open Door Baptist that you remember. Also too, I have heard that they've loosened their standards a bit too. Just a word to the wise... -Patrick

Went there from 1983 till 1992. Many good memories and some bad. Sadly, this Church closed in 2012 and the building is now occupied by Courage Church.
